I silently got up and was about to run when Dao's voice boomed out "I can smell you. You are stuck. Its 3 in the morning. Think you can run for 3 hours straight. Not from me. From all the monsters present on the premises. They are here on my command. They will act on my command. You can probably beat those little giants, but don't let that fool you into thinking you are a match for me."

I ran. I used my mental track to see the pathways of the hall, and realized that if i do not head directly to Orvax's room, this other path eventually leads you there. But if Dao gets the giants to attack me, the giants would use the direct path to reach me, and Tiara had shown me a hidden door, which acts as the janitors cabinet. I could fit into there, and the smell of the bleach would mask my smell. But I got another idea. Dao would realize that I am using some stuff to mask my smell. If I drench myself in bleach, and take a tin of it with me, pouring it down on the floor behind me, so that the whole premises will smell like bleach, and Dao will not be able to track me so.

I took a second tin as I guessed one would not be enough. When I turned back to the ledge at which I was originally hiding, Orvax's voice started booming in my head. "Are you alive?" he asked. "Yup" I said, with some stress as running with two tin cans around the mastery grounds was not an easy task. I saw the ledge at which I was hiding, opened my mental map and saw that the giants were considerably behind me, and Dao was waiting at the interjection between the two paths leading to Orvax's door. I went slightly ahead from the hiding place, and threw the tin can ahead. Ran back to the ledge, and squatted there, waiting to see if my tiring yet elaborate ruse had worked. The giants turned the corner. Stopped. They turned their faces upwards and took a deep breath." There is no smell of him. He could only have gone that way. Lets go" said the giant at the front, in voice that made want to peel my head off. It sounded like grating a rock as if it were cheese. But the happy thing was that they had passed me, and it was 4 in the morning now. Just an anxious wait of two hours, and I would be safe.
