The crystal was just silent through out the long walk from the train station to the mastery premises. The moment dad through open the premises' doors, a person, sitting behind a desk to my left, asked dad to open the doors with more care, due to it being very old. Dad just nodded, and I looked over to the desk. The sight was surprising. The desk was extremely unique. I covered the identity of the person sitting behind it too. I walked over to the desk, wondering who is there, and dad thought out, " The person sitting behind the desk is a master. He had arrived from our town. Detroit. Used to be a guard or so, and is now stuck being a practical guard here also. Sad"
I walked away. Suddenly, I remembered the school security guard I met just before leaving. Could it be? I mentally asked dad if there was a quicker way to arrive at the mastery premises, and he said that there was a quick teleport, but I was to inexperienced to use it. I looked back at the desk, and it had transformed into a normal one. The person sitting behind it was a familiar face. That of the security guard. Dad then proceeded to say aloud, "Orvax? What are you doing at the desk, especially since we need your help with Syl." said dad. "Oh, all is well. You and Jaime were able to bring him back here without him having a scratch, even though he was attacked." was Orvax's answer. At this point, I had forgotten about Jaime. He had been so quiet. But he was unnecessarily nodding, even though Orvax stopped talking. Could it be that even his crystal could talk?
Orvax led me across the mastery area which I would be in, saying that everything will be available for me in this area. His exact words were, " No need to leave block D." I saw the training grounds and saw multiple people, all around my age, sixteen, were each training to harness their power against a scare-crow. "You will be joining this group for your practices. You will be told on how you will be spending your time. If you wish, we can also provide you with a schedule and an alarm clock, with the alarms set for your particular schedule." said Orvax. A peculiar question popped up in my head. "Who is we?" I asked Orvax out aloud.
"We stands for the mastery. 'We' are all the people who dedicate our energies and hard work to this mastery. 'We' are all the people who wish to keep both the Ka'ar region and Earth safe from threats lying in both domains. 'We' are the masters of the Ka'ar region." said Orvax. "Great speech sir, but I got my answer in the first line itself. What you were trying to say is that there are other people, laborers per se, to do all this work for a student or a teacher. Quite fair for the laborers, because I have been led to presume that all the people who work at the mastery are graduated students. That leads me to question my future position in this scheme." I responded. Orvax and dad and just looked at each other. Dad started to scold me, but Orvax started laughing. "We have a smart one here. Yes, that is how the way things work here at the mastery. And yes, it is not a happy ending after the gruelling training. But the demand for our work have been at an all time low. And that is something we of the mastery can't control. We have to accommodate our graduates somehow." said Orvax after his laughing session.
