Harrison's POV

Jay was talking about something, but I wasn't paying attention. All I could think about was a certain redhead. Last night's events did not go the way I had planned. One I did not expect to have a gun pulled on me, let alone by Lucy. Two I didn't expect Lucy to actually agree to be friends with me.

I knew that she didn't want to keep the baby out of my life, but I knew she just wanted to do things herself. After I punched whatever his name is and then saw her a wave of guilt washed over me. Granted I also had a gun pointed at my chest.

Then when she started crying I didn't know what to do. Her brown eyes looked into mine and in that moment I had wanted to kiss her, wipe all her tears away. Something to make her feel better. I hated that I was the one making her cry

"Pretty boy," I heard Jay yell out. I turned and found him over by the pool table with a couple of people. When the hell did he get over there?

"I told you to stop calling me that," I yelled back, taking a long sip out of my brown bottle.

"Uh never. Come on. Loser pays for the next round," he shouted. I shook my head and looked back at the bartender. As tempting as it was for free beer I needed to head out as soon as possible.

So I grabbed my wallet from my back pocket and pulled out a twenty. My eye caught the picture of the sonogram that I had slipped into my wallet. I was having a son. It was amazing, but scary.

"Congrats," I looked up from my wallet and smiled at the bartender.

"Thanks," I handed her twenty. She gave me a nod and ran off to the register to put the money in.

I collected my things and waved Jay a goodbye, but he was too drunk to even notice. When I reached my car my phone started buzzing in my pocket. Who the hell would be calling me this late into the night?

It was my mom.

I was reluctant to pick up the phone because I knew if I answered we would be on the phone for hours.

I sighed, clicking the green circle, and brought the phone to my ear.

"Hey mo-"

"Harrison thank god you picked up," she said. I tilted my head to my shoulder to secure the phone as I got into my car.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh nothing," she said back.

"Then why are you calling me at," I looked down at my watch, "Eleven forty five at night."

"Well I'm sending out my final invitations for Cate's birthday party and you still haven't told me if you and Lucy would come."

"Mom I've told you that I have work and my schedule is wa-"

"Harrison Blake Price you are going to break your little sister's heart if you don't come."

"Mom, you can't guilt trip me. I'm twenty eight," My phone connected to the bluetooth in my car as I pulled out of the parking lot, "Also why don't you just invite Lucy yourself?"

"Harrison I am still your mother," she huffed back angrily, "I don't have Lucy's number, so that leaves you to invite her.

"But mom I can't co-"

"Oh you're coming!" she yelled over the phone, "If you don't." she stopped, trying to think of something, "No valentine's day basket."

"Mom!" I yelled back. Every year since before I could remember, mom would put together small baskets full of candy and other things. Didn't matter our age or if we still lived with her.
