Colors of Hope

It's Two Thousand-Twenty
And we're quarantined
Through March, April, and May
The weather is warm
But the sky still looks grey
But life feels like a bummer
We can't go to school
And it's not out for the summer
Each day, we're alone
Doing classwork from home
Stuck with siblings and parents
Who argue and drop hints
That what we all hoped for
Is not what we wanted
But look at the stars
In the pretty night sky
And look at the flowers
That grow in the light
The clouds may be grey
But the sky is still blue
The world may be scary
But hope still shines through
It's deep in the bushes
Where animals hide
It hums in the engines
Of cars that we drive
It glows through
Beautiful flowers of spring
It flows through the songs
That the gentle birds sing
Though life's raining right now
Soon a rainbow will come
And our lives will be showered
With the colors of hope
