Four faces looked at me in anticipation. Even Arina looked excited at the prospect of possible travel. I grinned at them.
"We'll be traveling to the College of Winterhold. There are people there who can teach you all about magic far more effectively than I can. Which is pretty bad, considering I'm the Arch-Mage of said College."
"How far is the College?" Arina asked. She looked excited for this part of our adventure. We'd been in this world for a month and this was the first time I'd seen her smile.
"What should we pack? Other than our weapons, of course." Rosla asked.
"We each need about 3 weeks worth of food. I'm planning on taking a few detours to give you some combat practice on some bandits, to get your one-handed skill up. I already have that much because I'm gone so much but going forward it would be prudent for you to have that much with you at all times as well."
"Why?" Brok asked. A smart boy, but still not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
"Because it's about time we started getting serious about why we're here." I looked at each of them. "The next weeks will be hard. We're going to be training hard every day. By the time we get to the College I hope each of you will be at least level 10. You'll be training against me and I'll be taking you into dungeons along the way."
Excited whispering greeted this news. A long journey! The four of them started to disperse. "Hold it." They stopped in their tracks and looked at me expectantly. "We'll each need a bed roll, and Rosla, you'll be carrying a wood axe for building fires. Brok, you'll be carrying the tents. Arina, you'll be in charge of the cooking equipment. And Celesty, you'll be in charge of keeping the map. Now, go pack".
Everyone dispersed and I sat back. Serana looked at me. "Not to be rude, but when are we going to look for the Moth Priest? My father is waiting."
"I know. And I'm sorry. But that has to take a...lower priority level than getting my family trained." I said apologetically. Serana nodded.
*Later that same night*
After everyone finished packing, we finished working on the kitchen and had oven baked bread and sweetrolls that night to celebrate, with a venison stew.
Tomorrow, our adventure would really begin.
