The next morning we reached Whiterun by 10. I'd formed a party with everyone and given them their jobs. Rosla would be our merchant and smithy, Brok would be our assassin and warrior, Arina would be our enchanter and mage, and Celesty would be our healer and thief. Everyone seemed pleased with the jobs given to them, so that was a win in my book.
We entered the city and walked over to Warmaiden's so I could talk to Adrienne about armor. I ordered a custom set and a mace and then we went up to the market to buy lunch.
"Is it always so hot?" Arina asked. She appeared to be sweating through her armor. Clearly, we would need to bathe in the river when we set up camp for the night. I almost laughed. Bathing was such a mundane thing. You never thought about it when you play.
"Go ahead and take your armor off for now. Here's the key to Breezehome, it's right by Warmaiden's. I'm used to it, but if the rest of you want, go and change into the robes you brought." Arina took the key and ran to the house. Brok and Rosla quickly followed suit. Celesty seemed content to stay in the light armor she was equipped in, however. Serana stayed sitting where she was in the shade.
A few hours later, I had my new armor and mace and equipped them. After Arina, Brok, and Rosla changed back into their armor, we set off. If we kept up the pace we'd been keeping, we should make it to Nightgate Inn, depending on how long the two dungeons took today.
We made it to Fellglow keep in good time, though I realized that perhaps making it to Nightgate Inn was expecting too much. This group was getting better but they simply weren't me. They got lost way too easily in a dungeon that practically had One Way signs in it.
Sighing, I pointed the way yet again when they finished with the mages that attacked them. Finally, we made it to the main chamber and we defeated the Caller with little difficulty. Grabbing the books, I led them back outside. Night had fallen, so we set up camp where we were.
"Alright people. Lot time for baths. We may not have soap but we can certainly wash the sweat off." I held up six sticks, five the same length and one shorter. Brok drew the short stick, so he went first. The rest of us stayed in our tent and giggled about how he looked embarrassed to be bathing in the small pond near the campsite.
"Hey Brok! Don't let a slaughterfish bite you in the rear!" I laughed. Splashing ensued as he apparently ran out of the pond and hurriedly dressed.
"What? There's slaughterfish in there?!" He looked panicked. The rest of us snorted with laughter.
"No dummy. There's a couple salmon but that's it." I tried to control my laughter. "Anyway, if you're done, it's our turn. Stay in here and don't peek."
We laughed and splashed in the pond till supper smelled ready. Then we dressed and ate the rabbit stew Celesty prepared.
After a lively discussion about Korvanjund, the dungeon we would try to make it to tomorrow, we checked their levels. I was pleased that they'd all gone up a level.
We sparred a bit to get some more practice in and went to bed. Tomorrow would be a tough day. Time to rest while we could.
