"Dry land! Thank God!" Tsapi said, once she'd been revived with food and a tiny bit of mead. Ri'nara agreed with a mouth full of food.
"This is so much better than ship food! And these, what'd they call them, oh yeah, ash potatoes are awesome!" Their tails flicked back and forth in pleasure.
The rest of us laughed to see them happy, and, for the moment, safe. I'd insisted on them sitting in the corner with us around them. Judging by the approving looks of the tavern maid, this had been the correct move.
Suddenly the door burst open and who should walk in but the man who'd been eyeing the girls for a month. Actually it was more of an exaggerated limp, but whatever got him more attention, I suppose.
"That wood elf is the one! She's the one who stabbed me!" He staggered toward Celesty and the girls, hatred glowing in his eyes.
I shot up, throwing stars in hand. I threw them down, burying them in the stone floor at his feet. He stopped and glared at me.
"And do you wish to announce your obvious intentions with my daughters? You had your lecherous eyes on them for a month. You, sir, give our people a very bad name, as well as the port of Raven Rock." I continued, louder. "You dared to approach the daughters of the Dragonborn you summoned. You are a pedophile."
At least the man had the good sense to look scared in front of Lord Morvayn, who was sitting at the table next to ours, before the guards dragged him to the dungeon.
"Wait." Celesty got up and looked at Morvayn. "Sir, he was ready to kill me. Please, let me return the favor." He nodded.
"Tomorrow at dawn, he will face your wrath, lady wood elf. Dragonborn," he said, looking at me. "You must be proud of your party. They are strong. And I have no doubt your daughters will grow up to be the same."
I smiled and nodded. My family was indeed strong. And we would continue to get stronger together.
*The next morning*
Celesty sat next to me trembling. "Hey, you'll be okay. Think of him as a draugr or a bandit. Easy enough, right?" She smiled.
Then she got up, looked him in the eye, and used a double shock spell, killing him instantly.
"Take that, asshole," she snarled. Turning back to us, she had a fierce glint and a new light in her eyes. "Let's go."
