"We've been at sea for days, shouldn't we be able to see land by now?" Rosla asked.
"I don't know. I haven't seen a world map to know how far Solsteim is. It's northeast just off the northern coast of Morrowind. You can actually see the Red Mountain and the Morrowind coast from Solsteim." I looked back at the kits, who were sitting over buckets. I couldn't help but laugh a bit. It had taken everyone a few days to find their sea legs, but those two had been miserable for the whole trip.
"Look! Land!" Ventus said. "Straight ahead! It looks like a seaport." I looked at the horizon. He was right.
"Good! We'll be there by morning! Let's get to bed guys. Once we get there we'll spend a couple days resting so that the kits can get their strength back." Glancing back, I saw the ambassador making side glances at the girls. I snarled, then went and picked them up without a glance at him. Each night, I'd moved our bed in front of the door, and each night, he'd tried the door, always citing a mistake on the way to his own cabin. That night, I called a meeting.
"We're going to have to watch our backs leaving Raven Rock. That ambassador will try to follow us to get to Tsapi and Ri'nara. He might not look it, but he's loaded with weaponry other than that ceremonial blade." I said. The others nodded, looking at the two sleeping kits. Tsapi and Ri'nara may have been annoying shits and thorns in my side in my previous life, but they'd taken my advice to heart and become the children they were, which had endeared them to all of us.
"In terms of field awareness, I have the best sensory training, so I'll be behind the group keeping watch," Ventus said. I nodded and pointed to Arina.
"Arina will be with you since she specializes in long range attack and illusion spells. Celesty and I will be on the sides, and Rosla in front. Until we can apprehend this guy, this is what we have to do."
Celesty nodded. "He's been getting more desperate this whole trip. I -" Suddenly she stabbed her dagger through the door, and we heard a scream and a thud against the opposite wall.
Quickly we moved the bed and opened the cabin door to find the ambassador sitting against the opposite wall, holding his knee.
"How to catch a pedophile. Nice work, Celesty." I grinned and gave her a high five.
"She cut me! Don't reward her!" He sputtered angrily. I flicked my wrist and four throwing stars appeared on both sides of his head. He shut up quick.
I grinned and grabbed my throwing stars, then grabbed him. "Up with you. Let's get you bandaged up and then in bed."
After getting the man in bed, I went to the captain. "I'll give you 20,000 septims to take the ambassador to Elsweyr and spread word to other captains about him so he never gets home."
The captain grinned. "Deal!" He said.
