Evangeline's P.O.V

"I don't know how to put it but you know my father and how he likes things going his way, right?" I stated, making him nod his head.

" He wants me to give Cole a chance," I added, making him stand up in front of me.

" Hell no" he exclaimed. " Like in hell, I would let you. You're mine, Evangeline. If I had to go to your father and tell him about us then I would or if I had to kill the f*cking Cole then I would but I would never let you go." He added with anger slowly consuming him, making me stand too as I got up on my tiptoes, giving him a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you, Abram but you don't have to do that. I talked with my father. He got angry but I know he'll understand" I replied, calming him a little bit.

Wrapping his arms around my figure, I couldn't help but feel thankful that I felt comfortable telling him about how strict my father is and him knowing about my relationship with Abram is the very last thing that I want and thankfully he understood.

"Whatever it is, baby. Promise me that you won't ever leave me and if something ever comes between us, promise me that you'll give a chance to explain myself" he muttered as he stared at me, once again letting me read the emotions that were swirling on his eyes. It's such a rare sight and he barely let me read his emotions, that he barely let his walls down but that's when I get to know that he's really serious.

"I promise," I answered, making him once again pull me against his chest as he captured my lips.

After my shift ended, Abram insisted on taking me back home but I know better than to agree and after minutes of debating with him, he finally agreed so here I am sitting at the backseat of the car with Rico driving.

Keeping my gaze outside the window, I prayed silently that my father calmed down but I know I was just fooling myself.

My father is a very hot-headed man. I always see how he is with his workers whenever they do something wrong. They feared him.

He was never like this until these last few weeks. He's been really stressed out with the company that he easily gets irritated and shouts at very tribal matters.

"You know, Eva if I were you. I would keep a distance from Valentino." Rico spoke all of a sudden breaking the silence.

" You don't know what type of guy he is, Eva" he added, making me sigh.

" He may be a bad guy or ruthless out there but with me he's different. He's trying to be the best he can be for me." I exclaimed, not able to take any bullsh*t about my man.

Upon hearing my response, Rico chuckled but it wasn't a happy one.

" Does your father even know about it?" He asked, looking at me through the mirror.

" You better be careful, Eva cause I won't always keep my mouth shut" he added, making my heart race.

Deciding not to say anything, I turned my attention to my phone, replying to Abram's message asking me to call him when I got home which I happily replied that I would.

Reaching the house, I tiptoed inside not wanting to face anyone as I dashed upstairs to my room.

Pulling the door of my room opened, my eyes widened and my heart accelerated inside my chest as the sight of my dad sitting patiently on my bed waiting for me greeted my eyes.

"I was waiting for you" he stated as he pats at the side of the bed, inviting me to sit down with him, which I did.

"I don't really know how to start, Evangeline. I don't have words to say how I'm actually feeling right now. But you're starting to talk back now and voice out your opinion unlike before you're so timid, always letting people decide for you" he stated as he smiled to himself as he kept his gaze down at his knotted fingers.

"Just because I'm starting to realize what I'm actually missing out on" I mumbled, making him hummed in response.

" Remember Eva. I'm doing all this just to protect you. You're my daughter. I would never want the worst for you" he added, making me frown.

" What exactly are you trying to protect me from, dad? Huh?" I exclaimed, taking him back as he stared at me for a second and continued to keep his gaze down.

"I can't tell you, my dear because you'll never see me the same" he muttered as he got up and left me all alone in my own thoughts.

You'll never see me the same. What exactly did you do, dad?

Too busy thinking what actually my father did, calling Abram slipped out my mind and I only realized it when my phone started ringing with his name flashing on the screen.

"Hello" I greeted, making a smile lit up my face.

"Hello, princess. I called to ask if you're free tomorrow?" He questioned, and uncertainty was evident in his voice.

" Yeah, it's the weekend tomorrow so I'm free" I answered, making him sigh in satisfaction.

" Can I take you out tomorrow?" He questioned.

" I-I mean, I want to take you out like a real couple cause I never took you to a proper date" he stammered, making me smile even wider.

Abram Valentino is nervous to ask a girl out. How sweet.

"I would love that, Abram," I answered, making him release a breath while I laughed.

" Can't wait to see you, princess" he stated. Me too, Abram. You got me addicted to you.
