Jasmine's POV
The set of piercing yellow eyes bore into my own. Slowly it stepped out of the shadows and I saw the mighty black wolf that the eyes belonged to. My breathing hitched and my eyes fleeted to Tony, who was already rushing inside. I felt myself rooted to the ground and despite my common sense telling me to run the fuck away, I couldn't bring myself to leave. We both stood, unmoving and finally my breathing steadied. I saw another shadow move and another wolf emerged from the shadows, this one had sandy brown fur.
I heard a latch click inside the house and heard Tony running back out. My eyes widened at he pointed a crossbow at it and shot. My eyes followed the arrow as it whistled through the air. Watching in horror, the sandy haired wolf attempted to move but the arrow was lodged in its side. It yelped in pain. Tony was about to reload when I found myself between him and the two wolves.
"Jas what are you doing?" He yelled at me, lifting the crossbow back up. I tried to speak but words failed me.
"I... do-" I was cut off by a groan behind me. My head whipped around to see a naked man laying beneath me, an arrow lodged in his side and a grossly stretched wound.
My jaw dropped as I stared at him, snapping out of my shocked state when I heard a growl. The other wolf stood protectively over his body.
"Jas move out of the way" I heard Tony yell but I ignored him. I heard the crossbow click.
"Tony what are you doing? He's hurt. Where the fuck did you even get a crossbow? You know what never mind" I knelt beside the injured man as my instincts took over. I pulled my coat off and covered his... lower region.
"You don't know what he is Jas. I've got to call someone." Tony muttered as he walked back inside. I rolled my eyes, he's grumpy yet again. Surprise surprise. Note the sarcasm.
"Don't move." I told the man as he breathed heavily.
"I'm not going anywhere." He gestured to the arrow embedded in him.
I quickly rushed inside, keeping my eyes on them as I felt for the first-aid kit I knew was hung just inside the door. I grabbed it and rushed back out. I noticed the black wolf move to stand beside me, its head tilted as if it was watching what I was doing.
I grabbed a bottle of disinfectant and dampened a cloth before turning back to him.
"This is going to hurt, I'm sorry." I said as I swiftly pulled the arrow out of his side. He grimaced in pain. I placed the bloody arrow next to him and began cleaning the wound.
"It's not the deep." I mumbled as I inspected it. I noticed slight scarring that looked like it was caused by a burn.
"You have burn marks around the wound. Do you know what might have caused it?" I asked him as I cut a piece of gauze. He stared at the wolf next to me, not answering my question.
"Hey."
I snapped my fingers in his face.
"I don't think it's going to hurt you. Wait-." I cut myself off as I tried to wrap my head around the situation. As I applied the gauze I realised the sandy haired wolf was nowhere to be found and had somehow disappeared after being shot. Instead a man with light brown hair lay in front of me, next to the same kind of arrow that I had just pulled out of him. I felt like I recognised him but brushed the thought off, focusing instead on helping him.
I finished cleaning him up, my mind slightly hazy as a million thoughts rushed through my head.
"Um... I think you should go to the hospital and get that checked out. Wait, the hospital. I know you. You were at the hospital earlier today. Uhh what was his name? Tyler. You're Tyler's friend." I began piecing together the information out loud.
