Jasmine's POV
"Alec" I whispered, causing him to look at me. His eyes were completely yellow and it would have frightened me, had I not been so happy to see him. He nuzzled against me and when I tried to get to my feet, he let out a growl. "In case you haven't noticed, this isn't over. I'm fine" I argued, using my uninjured arm to push myself off the ground. I felt him stand next to me, acting as a support. I smiled at him, before attempting to retrieve my dagger, when something nudged my leg. I looked at Alec to see my cross-bow in his mouth, his tail wagging.
I took it gratefully, he probably didn't want me to engage in close-quarters combat and I definitely wasn't in the shape to. I saw Alec sprint off whilst I used my cross-bow for some longer range shots on the rogues. The battle went on for what seemed like hours, the sound of screaming never once dying down until all of a sudden a horn sounded. I pulled the dagger I had just thrown out of a dead rogue when a noise rang through the air, and the rogues immediately retreated back into the forest. My eyes scanned the field, bodies covered the floor. I could see the injured trying to move though many were unable to.
I scanned the scene to find Alec but was distracted by the sound of someone screaming for help. Looking over I saw a naked male who was sitting with an injured wolf in his lap, their light fur stained with their blood. I rushed over to them as the male whispered to the wolf. For some reason I could just tell it was a she-wolf.
"Where is she injured?" I asked, tucking away the dagger before inspecting her. The man growled at me, holding her body tighter. "I'm going to help her, don't worry." He eyed me cautiously but a whimper from beneath him made him look down at the she-wolf.
"Her legs and around her throat." He murmured.
I prepared myself mentally, taking in a deep breath and ignoring the pain I felt from doing so.
"Try and find some others who are injured and get them to the medical wing" I instructed the male but he protested.
"I'm not leaving my mate"
"Go help the others" I repeated, more authority present in my voice - shocking the both of us.
He quickly stood up, walking away but looking back at me at regular intervals. I focused on my breathing, placing my hands gently around the neck of the whimpering she-wolf and that same feeling flowed through me.
I felt her moving underneath me and once I moved my hands away, her neck wound had sealed.
"Can you shift?" I questioned, already searching for the next person who needed my help. I saw injured people being aided by those who could still walk and the she-wolf responded by shifting.
"Can you walk?" I said, my eyes landing on a wolf whose breathing I could hardly hear, even though he was near enough for me to hear him normally. "Yes" a hoarse voice whispered and I gave her a soft smile. "Try and help anyone you can"
I then ran over, more like hobbled over, to the wolf who had fresh blood trickling out of his neck. He sputtered in an attempt to make noise but I shushed him. Closing my eyes once again, I placed my hands on his neck, the warm substance spilling all over them. I sat like that, oblivious of my surroundings as the severity of his wound caused me to use more of my energy to close it. I began feeling slightly light-headed but carried on nonetheless. A strong breeze began to pick up.
I was shaken by some arms and opening my eyes, I saw pack members wearing the medic badge on their arms pick up the wolf and place him on the stretcher. His neck had stopped bleeding and he offered me a weak smile and licked my hand affectionately.
He was carted away before I could respond. I forced myself to my feet, I needed to find Alec for my gut was telling me something had happened. Following the sound of shouts I walked to a small section of the woods where Alec lay, a silver knife in his leg, as he writhed around on the ground in agony. The sight caused a flash of pain to hit me and an involuntary gasp to leave my mouth.
