Jasmine's POV
Pain.
I stirred, opening my eyes groggily. Pain overwhelmed me, my head was pounding and I felt a distant throbbing feeling. I blinked a few more times, taking in some deep breaths. When my vision was finally clear I was able to notice my surroundings. I was sat on the hard concrete floor of a cell, whose bars were rusty. The cell had a stench that lingered uncomfortably. Series of chains were attached to the wall but as I looked down at my own hands, they were untied.
I went to rub my eyes when pain shot up my shoulder. I winced as I looked at it, the blood had congealed but the scratches were prominent. I ran my hand over it, biting my lip to stop any sounds of pain. The scratches weren't too deep but it was painful nonetheless and the headache I had was not helping. I heard a creaking sound and looked up to see a man with a white coat on enter the cell, followed by a buff man with a mean look on his face - his bulging muscles covered in tattoos and his face was lightly scarred.
"Hello Miss. I'm the doctor and I'm here to dress your wound." The man in the white said, pulling out a small surgical kit.
I tried to reply but nothing came out of my throat.
"Could you get her some water?" The doctor asked but all he got in reply was a grunt. He smiled sympathetically at me before placing disinfectant on a cloth. I hissed, squeezing my eyes shut as he cleaned the wound. He apologised quietly and for some reason he sounded like he meant it. He cleared his throat and I opened my eyes again, a glass of water being held in front of my face. I accepted it graciously, drinking it all in one go. Feeling somewhat refreshed, I leaned my head against the cold stone wall behind me.
"Take these, they should help the pain." He said, handing me two round blue pills.
I raised my eyebrows at him.
"They're paracetamol."
When I made no move to take them he sighed.
"They'll help the pain."
"What are these, sedatives? And don't tell me it's ibuprofen because I am a doctor and these" I gestured to them. "These are dodgy as hell."
His eyes glazed over and I knew he was mind linking someone. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Alpha wants you to take them. It's either this or I give you an injection. It isn't a sedative. It's just a strong painkiller to help your injury and light concussion." I sighed, eyeing the two small pills.
Well fuck me.
I swallowed them before I could convince myself not to. The doctor smiled at me, looking pleased.
"How come you called that guy Alpha? I thought you were rogues. Do rogues also get to mind link?" I was cut off by a grunt which came from the burly man I forgot was there. The doctor hurriedly stood up and exited the cell, the large man following him and locking the door. I huffed, he never answered my question.
"Those pills should kick in soon, they work wonders." A voice startled me and my eyes darted around my cell. I felt a panic rising in my chest.
"Relax" the voice said, a man coming out of the corner of the cell, only stopping when his chains pulled him back. How had I not noticed him before?
"The name's Brady. And you are?" He said, his dirty blonde hair flopping over his face.
"Jasmine." I replied curtly. I was in no mood for conversation.
"Human." He mumbled to himself.
"Werewolf?" I asked, mocking him slightly, and he nodded.
"So how did you end up in this miserable hell hole?"
