Jasmine's POV
I gasped as I neared the car. It had flipped over, the glass of the shattered windshield littered the ground. Smoke rose from the engine, and the doors had been thrown open.
I heard Noah's muffled voice in the back of my mind as I desperately searched for any sign of my parents or my brother. Trails of blood stained the grass and I frantically followed the one closest to me.
The scratching sensation became more prominent the more I followed the trail.
A hand fell on my shoulder and I instinctively grabbed it, stopping it from moving.
"Sorry! Didn't mean to startle you" I spun around to see Ivy and a group of people I didn't recognise.
"This is the rogue scent, a few trackers and I are following it."
I eyed the blood trail, sighing.
Ivy signalled to the people behind her and they walked past me.
"Oh and Alec is looking for you."
"Thanks"
I walked back towards the car, which had been flipped back over, small flames flickered inside it.
I smelt him before I saw him. He was standing near the car and talking to Jason in a hushed whisper. His back muscles were noticeably tensed as I approached him. I placed a hand on his back and I heard him exhale.
Alec nodded to Jason. "Alpha, Luna" he said as he left. I had never seen him looking so serious. I guess the situation brought out this side of him.
"What's happening?" I asked him as more people began scanning the area.
"We just found your parents and brother. They've been taken the hospital" he held me in his arms as he told me the news.
"I need to go see if they are ok-" I tried to move but Alec held me in place.
"The rogue or rogues are still on pack territory. You need to be careful. Could you go help with the preparations for tonight?"
"Are you serious? Alec I can heal them. I'm helping." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Jas you have to let the doctors deal with it for now. We don't know how much your powers work on humans." I was about to protest when I looked up at him, causing my expression to immediately soften. He looked tired. His beautiful face has become creased with worry lines.
My hands subconsciously went up to his face, stroking it soothingly. He leaned into my touch.
"Ok."
I pulled him into a tight hug, which he returned.
"You know you can talk to me about all this stuff" I said into his ear. He nodded into my hair before kissing me on the top of my head.
I began to jog back to the pack house when I felt a burn in my neck once more. But this time it was much stronger and I felt a strange pull. It seemed to be coming from the main road and it clawed at me. The urge to go investigate was strong and as I was about to follow the pull, Alec flashed in my mind.
I focused on his words and his weary face. Using his memory I managed to resist the pull the was still dragging my entire body in. I went back to the pack house. The cooks were still preparing the feast, completely ignoring all that was happening outside. I decided to distract myself by showering, hoping to stop the sensation in my shoulder.
I stripped out of my clothes, allowing the warm water to flood over me. I stepped out, dried myself and put on a pair of denim shorts and a crop top, drying my hair with the towel. The smell of food being cooked wafted through the house and the burning was still very much present in my shoulder. I chose the believe it was because a rogue was still on the territory somewhere. I went back downstairs to go help out.
