So sorry for being away so long you guys! Anyways I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday. Enjoy another long overdue chapter!
Jasmine's POV'WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED??' Alec's voice came hurtling through my other mind link and I winced slightly.
'I'll tell you in a bit'
I shut off the link and I moved to help people to their feet. We exited the room swiftly, heading to the main hall where swathes of people were stood in groups, talking. I could tell we all looked like shit from the stares we were getting.
And I understood why. A group of unlikely 'friends' exiting from a random corridor where they look like they were attacked by the sun.
Among the people in the main hall, I saw Alec as he made his way towards me, the group parting to form a direct path.
I didn't have time to comment on it as he engulfed me in a hug.
"Ok" I muttered, patting him on the back as I continued to support someone beside me.
"Are you ok? Who is this? What did I feel through the bond?" I looked behind me to see the Legion members once again disappearing in the crowd to their respective packs.
I heard the person beside me groan as another pack member came by and took the person led them elsewhere, hopefully to get some medical attention or to a secluded spot where they could heal themselves.
"We should talk."
"So, some um interesting stuff happened this morning"
"I'll say" Alec muttered.
We moved to a secluded corner which was a good place to talk as it was quiet enough for us to hear each other but there were also enough background conversations for ours to be hidden.
After a brief explanation, Jason and Alec were all caught up about my new position in the Legion as well the attempted assassination.
"Oh my goddess" Jason breathed out.
"Yeah"
"No that's not what he means. Something happened at the meeting" Alec said as he paused and I urged him to continue.
"I was appointed 'King' of the werewolves by the Moon Goddess apparently. You know the reuniting of the species that tries to happen every few centuries, I guess we're both involved. I'm supposed to bring the packs together again, because after the last war the species was left even more divided."
Great.
As if life wasn't complicated enough.
"And with some of these Alphas... let's just say it won't be easy. We're supposed to form a council that I can consult with regarding the big decisions. And I can exclude people but it'll be hard."
"Puh-lease. The legion members haven't met in decades, they can't even have civil conversations"
Alec let out a small laugh and I held my forehead in my hand as I joined in.
"Wait" I said, lifting my head again. "So if you're the Werewolf King, I'm the Head of the Legion and we saw Tony coughing blood then he's the Head of the Hunters, who's the Rogue King?"
