Jasmine's POV
"She's not just human. She's a member of the legion." Pride shone in Kevin's eyes whilst I gripped my necklace tighter, causing a series of gasps to go around the room.
"It can't be. Legion member are practically extinct so new members? No way" The former Alpha muttered.
"Try and take that necklace from her neck" Kevin shrugged whilst I glared at him.
"No thanks" I said sharply.
Owen sighed and walked towards me. My heartbeat began to pick up.
"Jasmine it's fine. If I do take it I'll give it straight back ok?" He asked gently. I nodded my head tentatively, removing my hand from the necklace. He reached for it and tried to grab it when he recoiled in pain.
"What the fuck?"
"Language" scolded his mother but he shot her a look.
"See?" Kevin said placing an arm around me. I tensed slightly but the contact was oddly comforting so I allowed myself to relax slightly.
"It makes so much sense now" Brady whispered at the ground and everyone turned to him.
"In the cells she healed me whilst I was in contact with silver. And she told me about her extra hearing, and her strength. I never thought she was in the legion though."
"Silver healing. I'm impressed, that took me years to perfect" Kevin said from beside me.
"Um can someone fill me in? Legion... what is that?"
"Why don't we all sit down?" The Luna, Poppy, suggested and murmurs of agreement went around the room. I was guided to a seat directly in front of Owen whilst Poppy and Owen sat on the other side. Brady sat next to me whilst Declan, the former Alpha and Luna and Kevin's mate sat on the large sofa to my right. Kevin stood next to Owen.
"So you are aware of the legends surrounding the hunters?" Kevin said looking directly at me and I nodded.
"When hunters were created, the Moon Goddess wanted to provide werewolves with some protection from the hunters so she created the 'Legion'. This group was small but they, like the hunters, shared some qualities with werewolves. We have enhanced hearing, healing, strength, speed as well as our special sense if rogues or hunters are nearby. Every member has a different way of knowing, some have a physical indicator, I get a pricking sensation up my arm where my tattoo is. This only happens once a member becomes aware of werewolves and the member also needs to be in possession of the special stone that is in your necklace. There are many members who just aren't aware of their purpose, or don't have the stone, or both. The Goddess was able to give us such advanced abilities due to the very specific requirements required to unlock your potential. Some legion members, like us, are able to heal werewolves under the effect of silver. With my help, you can also learn to focus your energy into protecting a small number of wolves from serious harm."
"The nosebleeds" I whispered under my breath.
"Nosebleeds?" Declan repeated, slightly confused,
"When the hunters attacked the pack house in Shadowmoon, I got a nosebleed for the first time in a while. And when the hunter camp was attacked by rogues." My mind worked through all the nosebleeds I had gotten recently.
