Today was the day Doc moved away from his parents and into his own house. He had inherited the old mansion from his grandmother, who had just passed away. Back when he was still a child his grandma used to tell him stories about old spirits that lived in the mansion.
She told him that the builder of the mansion himself still lived there and Doc really enjoyed listening to these stories. A part of himself had always wanted to believe in them. But he kept telling himself that his grandma was just imagining these things, because there was no scientific explanation for something like that. After all, ghosts weren't real, or at least thats what he told himself.
Doc thought about how the old mansion might look now. He hadn't visited this place in ages. He remembered a big and and beautiful garden to the back. Filled with all kinds of flowers and plants, turning it into a colerfful world full of live. He remembered chasing after butterflies and taking naps in the shade of a giant, old tree when he was still a child.
The house itself was a perfect mixture between wood, concrete and iron. Some would say it looked like a haunted house because of its big windows and the unwelcoming vibe it gave off when it was dark.
Pulling up to the driveway of the house Doc parked his car and looked up at the giant round window, that was situated high above the main entrance. He exited the vehicle and walked around to its back, were he opened the trunk to take out some of the boxes. Picking them up he walked up to the big wooden doors and opened them. A loud creaking noise echoed through the quiet house and he coughed slightly, because of all the dust that was flying around. He stepped into the entrance hall and looked around. All of the furniture was still there and a few pantings were hung up for decoration. The curtains were all closed, the only source of light being the sun that shone through the opened door behind him.
He walked over to a small cabinet and put down the boxes next to it. Then he started opening all the curtains making the room seem much warmer and a lot friendlier. Walking out again he got the last boxes out of his car and closed the trunk, locking the car with a small remote.
Doc quickly sorted his boxes before starting to explore the mansion. No one said he had to start unpacking first, right? There were two big doors to his right and left. He rememberd that the one to the left lead into the giant living room and the one to the right lead into the big kitchen. Walking to the left he decided to check out the livingroom first. He opened the door and stepped into the room. A sigh escaping his lips when he didnt didn't see anything. A small noise could be heard as his robotic eye activated the nightvision mode. And he went to open the curtians.
After Doc opened all of them he turned his nightvision off again and looked around. There was a big sofa in the middle of the room with a big fluffy carpet underneath it. Infront of the sofa was a small desk and instead of a wall there was a giant bookshelf that also held a huge TV. There were also some shelves and multible cabinets. One of them had a mirror on top of it, with a note sticking to it?
Doc curiously walked up to the mirror and took the note. He started reading it out loud. "Dear Doc. If you read this, I will most likely be dead. I wanted you to live here because I know that your parents would probably sell this or turn it into a hotel or something. I also think that you are the only one 'he' would accept. I really hope that you two will be getting along. I have made some more notes araound the house just to tell you how everything works.
~Grandma. <3"Doc felt a tear run down the side of his face and he smiled, although he was a little confused. He wasn't supposed to have a roommate, so who did his grandma mean when she said that she hoped that the two would get along. He gently folded the note and put it into his pocket. Turning around again he took a final look around the room and started exploring further.
