We all stand inside the great hall. Myself, Legolas, Gandalf, Aragon, Gimli and Eomer. We all speak amongst ourselves as we prepare to figure out our next part of the journey.
"Frodo has passed beyond my sight" Gandalf explains "the darkness is deepening".
"If Sauron had the ring, we would know it." Aragon replies sincerely.
"It is only a matter of time. He has suffered yet another defeat. But behind the walls of Mordor our enemy is regrouping" Gandalf states.
"Let him stay there! Let him rot! Why should we care?" Gimli interrupts
"Because 10,000 Orcs now stand between Frodo and Mount doom" Gandalf replies looking down at Gimli.
"No, there is still hope for Frodo. He needs time and safe passage across the plains of Gorgoth. We can give him that." I say, involving myself in the conversation.
"How?" Gimli asks.
Aragon turns to look at me, observing the glint in my eye, realising what I am trying to say."Draw our Saurons armies, empty his lands. Then we gather our full strength and march on the black gate". Aragon says as he nods toward me.
"We can not achieve victory through strength of arms" Eomer cuts in.
"Not for ourselves, but we can give Frodo his chance. If we keep Saurons eye fixed upon us. Keep him blind to all else that moves." I explain.
"A diversion" Legolas jumps in to support me.
"Certainty of death, small chance of success, what are we waiting for?" Gimli says jokingly.
"Sauron will expect a trap, he will not take the bait" Gandalf states to Aragon.
"Oh but I think he will" Aragon replies confidently.
We take our leave to the outside of the halls where Aragon remains inside with the Palantir as he attempts to attract Sauron.
I take a seat on the steps by the entrance, awaiting Aragon to come out. When Legolas comes to sit by my side.
"Even ir fuin falls, cin're still i brightest galad nin eyes tur- see." ( even when darkness falls, You're still the brightest light my eyes can see) Legolas says softly as I lean my head into his shoulder.
"Cin're too kind na nin" (you're too kind to me) I whisper, a smile evident in my voice.
"Would cin prefer ha if im were rude?" (Would you prefer it if I were rude) he replies jokingly. I let out a small chuckle as I begin to run my fingers across his hand.
