A poet's biblical muse

I am not perfect that's for sure
And I know my good deeds are like filthy rags before my Lord
But that won't make me lose hope or give up.
No matter how many times I fall into the devil's trap

I will rise again and put up a good fight
For the joy of the Lord is my strength.
Nevertheless when I feel weak and faint
May I remember to look to Jesus for rest and comfort

Whenever we patiently wait upon the Lord, our strength is renewed
Thereby enabling us to soar on wings like eagles and run and not grow weary
I will forever sing of His wonderful deeds
For great is His faithfulness to me

How wonderful is this King of Kings
Who pardons sins and forgives all our transgressions
He doesn't turn his face away
When every time like the prodigal son I return after going astray

I have learnt to trust in the Lord with all my heart
Then will he straighten all my crooked paths
I will no longer be ashamed of my weakness
For through our weakness his power is made perfect and his grace sufficient

He is my saving grace and my light
Which mortal then shall I be anxious about?
May I be reminded always that the spirit of fear comes not from the one above
But all he bestows is the spirit of power, self control and love

At your feet I cast all my burdens
Upon my head lies no fears nor troubles
At night when I lay my head to sleep,
I trust in God my soul to keep

It still amazes me how your mercies are new every morning
Truly your love knows no bounds and is unfailing
I am in dire need of your Holy spirit every day
So that when tempted and persecuted prayers will be all that I'll orate

God's word states clearly that He will not let us be tempted beyond our ability
Despite this He grants a way of escape helping us to endure trials steadfastly
It's our duty to find that getaway to pass our life test
Whatever we go through be it good or bad  let us know that His plans are the best

Yes, I may not be the ideal Christian
I may fall into sin and perhaps break a couple of commandments
His grace is sufficient and He is ever ready to acquit
Although we must be careful not to cross the boundary by over using this benefit

The Lord himself assures us that the journey will not be easy,
But with God on our side no enticement would seem impossible to defeat!

I've been loving evening devotions with the fam so it inspired me to work on this piece (made entirely from Bible quotes) so kudos to the Bible and God for making this one successful!💃🏽 Also 132 reads?!
