"Tatiana darling, will you go and fetch us some more wine? It appears we have drunk this bottle already!" I can hear in Andrés' tone of voice he can't wait to get Tatiana away from me and Sergio.
Andrés knows something is wrong, but I know he won't show weakness in our relationship in front of his brother. It was obvious now Andrés didn't like looking bad in front of people. Tatiana smiles and leans over to kiss him, they peck, once, twice, three times until she says "Your favourite?" Which he just nods at. I can see Andrés still enjoys kissing her, he likes knowing he has two women in his life - I wonder if they still make love? The idea makes me feel nauseous, and I feel weak knowing he could be getting the best out of us both.
"Aurora Garcia." Sergio purrs my name which brings me back to reality. "I know so much about you. Drug dealer, then the most wanted woman in the United Kingdom by stealing jewels from the Tower of London - impressive." He half smiles and pushes his glasses up to his face.
"Your brother wasn't quite as impressed."
"Nothing is ever as good as his heists." Sergio admits which makes me snigger, I don't dare look at Andrés' face, he's probably glaring at his brother.
"You're important to not just my brother," I roll my eyes. "But also to me." Sergio tells me.
"Andrés and I have been planning seperate heists, his is certainly more ambicious then mine but-"
"Dear brother, mine is simply more complicated which makes it more interesting." Andrés booms loudly.
"We've not decided which comes first, as currently we're sorting out a plan for both." He turns to face Andrés now, as if asking permission. "For now, let us discuss mine."
"I don't want to do another heist." I see Andrés' mouth drop open in shock, he wasn't expecting complications from me this soon. "I'm not doing it." I say folding my arms in protest.
"I know you're worried about your relationship with Andrés, but-" I scoff a laugh childishly and look away from the pair which throws Sergio off too.
"Okay..." Sergio pauses whilst looking at Andrés. They're mentally communicating, and Sergio's asking Andrés why I'm not co-operating. Andrés furrows his brows, confused too by my behaviour. "What if I told you we'd be stealing 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain?"
My head whips round to Sergio, did I just hear that right? "You'll never have to work again," He whispers. "and neither will your children." He looks at Andrés now, as if Sergio was suggesting we'd have some eventually.
I follow Sergio's gaze to see what Andrés' expression is now, blank, as per usual.
"Is he serious?" I smile, not believing the words that fell from his mouth. Andrés just nods slowly and before I can say another word-
"Ah it was hidden behind all of the cheap bottles!" Tatiana calls from a distance and skips across the patio to her seat.
She leans down and kisses Andrés' cheek, as if she was making a point of claiming him. His face had not changed since I threw his hand off of my knee, and it was haunting.
We drank the wine, made small talk which none of us but Tatiana thought was good conversation, and before I knew it I was saying my goodbyes.
"Thank you again for the wine and the company, it was lovely." I say gracefully but I can see the rage in Sergio and Andrés' faces that we hadn't had the time to discuss the heist.
"Would you like a lift home, Lucia? I'm just on my way out too, and it would save you getting a taxi?" Sergio offers.
"Oh, only if you don't mind?" I ask, pretending to be a bother when really the car was the only place we could talk.
"Not at all." For the first time, Sergio smiles wider so that his pearly teeth show. He's relieved I've accepted the offer so that I can hear more - he now knows I'm interested.

"I'm looking for skilled people who don't have much to lose." He begins when my door slams shut from the outside world.
"And you think some misfits are going to be able to steal 2.4 billion euros?" I ask but he just nods.
"I don't have many people yet, obviously Andrés is involved-"
"So you thought I'd instantly want to be involved if my lover was doing it?" I hiss. "Wow, how alike do you think me and Tatiana are?" I scowl.
"No." He blurts. "No, firstly, I don't want Tatiana involved, she's too emotional." Which I completely agree with. "But I also need someone to be there for Andrés."
"Well I'm not her. He's already lying to me so why would I be there for him?"
"He's not lying to you, he's protecting you." He says defensively, knowing exactly why I'm upset.
"Protecting?" I repeat angily. "He tells me he wants me to be his last love and forgets to tell me he's dying?!"
"That's why you're so crucial to this plan. I'm worried he wants to die fighting, you know, for his image." I roll my eyes, the more I heard about Andrés the more I believed him to be a narcissist.
"But if he has you there, he'll want to spend whatever time he has left with you. Thus, he'll come out of this alive. Not only that, he really does mean it when he says you're his last love, Aurora. He has never looked at Tatiana the way he looks at you. If you don't do this heist with us and you wait for him, you'll never see him again."
This wasn't a question of whether I wanted to be rich or not, no, the money was just an added bonus. The question was, how much was I willing to be with Andrés?
The answer? "Okay." I breathe. "Yeah, I'll do it, for him. Because..." I sigh. "I love him."
I want to be with him and spend every waking moment with him, so if it means stealing from the Mint and risking absolutely everything including my life to do it, so be it. You'll do some stupid shit for love.
Sergio doesn't seem surprised I've dropped the 'L' bomb, in fact: "Don't tell him that, he'll remind you that you showed weakness first every single day." He jokes which makes me smile.
I know there's a part of Sergio that makes him feel uncomfortable about me and Andrés together. Everyone knows couples have fights and he's worried we'll have one so terrible we won't concentrate on the heist, but just solely on the argument which causes weaknesses. I understand his worry, after all Andrés was not an ordinary man in relationships, so I knew I had my work cut out. This is probably one of the many reasons why he didn't ask Tatiana to join the heist. But I want to make sure Sergio knows he can trust me, and nothing will stop me from saving Andrés, even if it means I have to die.
"Thank you for this." I say quietly.
"Don't thank me until we're all out alive and rich." He replies intensely. You can see how much he loves Andrés, he's scared he'll give his life up in there. And the more I think about it, so am I.
"I promise I'll protect him. No matter what." I say reassuringly and see Sergio flash me a small smile.
"Thank you." He breathes.
For the rest of the journey, Sergio tells me of the plan that he had in mind for the Mint, but it would take another few weeks to finalise, and then it would take us 5 months to have it drilled into our heads. All I could think of was the time I'd be spending with Andrés and how much or little of it we had. My teeth clenched, I needed answers from him.
