Rachel and Sarah

Just when I'm about to sink further into despair from the whispers around me. A soulful voice comes to my aid like a saving grace. "Sarah, look at what we found here," says a familiar voice of a black female walking out of the crowd. People moves out of her way like she is a battering ram.  Standing six-foot-tall, she dwarfs most of the men in our village and towers over the meek brunette that follows behind her.

"Rachel, don't stand there, her shame will get on you" Cody grunts out coming over to stand next to the black female.

"Its just Andy, and she will never be shameful, " Rachel says in defense of me. Ignoring Cody  Rachel offers a hand to me. " Time to get off the ground Andy." Pulling me up I am relieve and then quickly mortified when she slap my butt making me wince.

"Rachel, that hurts" I yell rubbing my butt.

"Good, now no more misbehaving today" Rachel chuckles in humor. Although her mood changes instantly when someone in the crowd says something about my tantrum.

Swinging around, my friend is terrifying when angered, and not just because of her height. With smooth dark brown skin, amber eyes, and a figure that made men drool she is a force of nature, literally.

Rachel is an earth witch like my sister and luckily the attention didn't go to Rachel's head making her insufferable. No, she is still the overprotective big sister who will punch someone who went against her loved ones.

"Go away" she snaps at a woman. The woman in question looks scared and shock at the rage coming from my friend.

"Shameful gossipers" Rachel growls at another woman that said I am a disappointment making her go white. The woman flees before Rachel could lay into her more. I stand back watching Rachel lecture the crowd to the point people left willingly.

"This is chaos,"  Sarah stutters out . Jerking at her murky skirt nervously, I can tell Sarah wanted to be anywhere but here as one of the onlookers begins to point at her. Seeing her face fluster from the attention I know I have to do something.

"Yeah, her nagging is getting worse each day" I joke but couldn't help but be happy having a friend like Rachel in my corner. Even if you are as guilty as sin, Rachel will have your back. It's one of her greatest gifts and flaws.

My friend's loyalty sometimes blinds her from seeing the truth about a person's character. Looking at Cody Walker shamefully gawking at another girl, with Rachel only feet away. It makes me want to scream at how my friend couldn't see through this creep.

A touch on my shoulder brought my attention back to Sarah. She looks at me with concern "Are you okay, Andy?" Swallowing I survey the crowd seeing most of the people are gone.

"Yeah, I'm alright, thanks to you guys."  I says thankful knowing that without my friends this mess would have ended up worse.

"I didn't do anything, it was all Rachel's doing" Sarah surprise when I embrace her. Sarah's body is a little rounder than most, but I could always get my arms around her easily.

"You stayed around that's what counts," I answer ignoring Sarah squirming in my grip. Being the naturally reserve one in the group, Sarah hates anything that brought attention, and a public embrace will do that.

"Okay Andy, now release me people are looking," Sarah wheezes a little at how hard I am squeezing her.

"There better be hugs for me because I had to yell at a lot of people for you, Andy" Rachel ribs behind us. Laughing Sarah and I let her into the hug. And like that, I blocked out the sounds of everything and enjoy a moment with my friends.

"Fire head, are you going to introduce us or hug all day?"  Jacob says interrupting our moment. Rolling my eyes I am force to release my friends and glower at the royal who ruined our fun.
