"You sure you want to go to the party tonight?" I groan while staring at myself in Sydney's bathroom mirror. Her head peers through the doorway, "duh."

I let out a sigh, "I didn't even get to talk to Billie again after the ceremony. I really don't see the point in me going if she's not gonna be there."

Sydney joins me in the bathroom, "you'll still have fun with me. And you never know, she could be there or something."

I lift myself onto the counter, "yeah right. She literally told me she hates high school parties. No fucking way," I breathe out.

Sydney sits beside me on the counter. "Let's go anyways. You barely know Billie, she should be the least of your worries."

She is right. Billie should be so fucking irrelevant to me and my sad life. And I don't need the extra baggage of falling for a stranger.

"It's the last party of high school," she continues, "you gotta go. Just like go smoke in the corner or something, you don't have to get wasted."

I nod slowly, "yeah, I know. I'm not gonna let some girl ruin my night."

She wraps her arm around my shoulder and pulls me into her, "that's my girl! It's almost 9, so we gotta hurry up." She hops off the counter and skips out the door and into her bedroom. I smile softly to myself then jump off the counter myself. I look in the mirror and exhale. Today has been one hell of a day. It's been hard to process.

I haven't talked to my parents since this morning. No text, no call, nothing. I didn't think them being absent for my graduation or even not telling me they're 'proud of me' or something would have such an effect on me. It just sucks, that's all.

I shake my thoughts out of my head and join her back in her bedroom. Sydney has a cute room. It's well decorated and fits her vibe well. She tells me all the time about how proud she is of it.

It's tiny, but she uses the space well. Her bed lies in a little nook, a full bed, with a white duvet and sparse pillows and throw blankets. The room is cluttered to just the right amount, it's messy but not messy enough to stress you. The walls are painted a pastel yellow, I had given her the idea to paint them yellow when she repainted the walls in March. Sydney gives off major yellow vibes (that makes no sense, I know.)

It's like how the subject math is the color red and science is green. I told her she's the color yellow, which she agreed on. I think it's just her bright demeanor and positive attitude, and her clothing style is always filled with bright colors. Also, her blonde hair adds to it as well.

There are two windows that provide amazing natural lighting and the yellow walls make such a happy environment here. She has pictures of friends, celebrities she loves, art, and honestly anything that makes Sydney, Sydney, hung up. Lots of books and plants too.

"Okay, do you like this top?" she holds up a bright green long sleeve with dark green floral. It's a button-up except with a v-neck instead of going to the top.
"I know it's hot out but it's breathable and I'll wear these low waisted jeans," she throws a pair of light wash denim on the bed. I sit down beside the pants.

"It's all cute," I smile, "pair a belt with it."

Her head perks up, "Oh right!" she digs through her closet and pulls out a plain, white belt. "I'll layer jewelry along with it."

"As usual, the best fits."

"I'm so excited you're comingggg," she sings. "Can I please do your makeup?"
