ELLA.
"Ava, guys, I'm going out," I called, "I need to go to the grocery store, I'll be back in 30."
Before any of the boys, or Ava could respond, I dashed out of the door.
"So I need, lemons, popcorn, chocolate, cake batter and... ice cream, maybe even a pizza, oh! And I'll get Ava her cereal." I nodded, heading out of the building.
I walked down to the grocery store, I smiled, taking a deep breath of fresh air. "Oh this feels so good!" I beamed.
—
"Okay, so to the snack aisle!" I ran to the snack aisle with a carry basket in my hand.
"Okay, popcorn... check, chocolate... check, cake batter... check, lemons? Check! Ava's cereal, of course I have it! Ice cream? Uh, no I'll go get it." I turned around to start and leave the aisle.
Only to bump into someone, I fell to the floor and dropped the basket, the contents spilling out.
"I'm sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going-!" I started rambling, only for the person to chuckle.
"Why are you apologizing? You couldn't have possibly known I was behind you, you don't have eyes in the back of your head." The low voice chuckled, "here allow me to assist you." He picked up my basket and put the items back into place.
"You didn't have to..." I mumbled, turning red at the nice gesture.
"Oh but I did, a lady such as yourself deserves the best." He smiled, and then reached out his hand for me to take, I did. He lifted me off the floor.
"So, what's your name?" I asked, grabbing my basket.
"The names Caleb, how about you? What might your name be?" I blushed, whys he so formal?
"U-uh my names Ella, it's nice to meet you Caleb." I gave him a nervous laugh.
"Oh right! Do you know where the Ice cream is?" I asked, looking anywhere but him.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't think he was attractive...
"Oh yeah, let me take you there," he offered, turning on his heel and leaving.
Okay! Pull yourself together Ella! He's just another person, a very nice person, helpful and kin- no!
I shook away my thoughts and followed him.
"Here we are! So what kind of ice cre-" I cut him off, "Mint chocolate chip!" I beamed, running over and putting it in my basket.
I heard laughing coming from Caleb's direction, I walked over to him.
"You must really enjoy your ice cream." He smiled, I nodded,
"Yes I do! But I have to get going now, I told my roommates that I'd be gone for only 30 minutes." I laughed, he raised an eyebrow.
"Well do they have you on a timer or something?" He shook his head and laughed at his not so unrealistic joke.
Knowing them, they probably did.
"Haha, right." I then excused myself and went to the self check out.
I ordered a pizza and told them to deliver to the apartment, they should be there in about 10 minutes.
I was taking out my money to pay when suddenly I saw a hand insert the money for me.
I turned around and saw Caleb, "You really didn't have to! I could've taken care of it myself." I told him, watching as he rubbed the name of his neck.
"Well, it's just a more formal apology, I did knock you over." He looked sorry, so I calmed down and sighed.
"Your kindness from early was apology enough, but thank you. I appreciate this too." I smiled, then I turned around and grabbed my receipt and the bags of food.
——
I don't know how, I don't know when. But I do know, my bag of lemons tore open, so I went to Caleb for help.
So he helped me take the lemons back to the apartment.
When we made it to the apartment door I sighed, opened the door and stepped inside.
"Again, sorry for the inconvenience." I was beet red when I turned to look at him, I'll never forget this.
"No, no, it's fine. I really don't mind." He assured me, again.
I suddenly remembered, the boys! Oh my g-
"Princess! You shouldn't run of- who is this?" Rhys questioned Caleb.
"An intruder?" Asch asked out loud, I shook my head.
"No guys this is Caleb, he helped me out with my grocery bags because one of them ripped." I explained, I watch Noi grumble.
"If you needed help you could've asked us, instead of some stranger." I sighed, turning to Caleb.
"Thanks for helping me!" I smiled, he nodded.
"Right, then I'll be going, it was a pleasure to meet you, Ella." He took my hand and kissed it, I turned beet red.
"Hey! Hands off Princess Ella!" Leif growled, reaching for his dagger, I shook my head at him, mouthing 'no!'
Then with that, Caleb left.
I sighed, turning around to look at the boys, and Ava who had come out of her room.
"You guys can't try and attack everyone who comes here that isn't Ava or I." I shook my head,
"What do you mean we can't? Yes we can," Leif took out his dagger.
"No! I mean you should learn to not hurt other innocent people." I looked at Ava, asking her to explain.
"She's right, if you do then it'll make them angry and they'll send you to Area 51," she nodded, the boys gasped.
"Okay, but no promises." Asch growled, walking over to the grocery bags I brought.
"What are these foods for?" He asked, looking over at me.
"Oh! I want to have a movie night with you guys!" I gave them all their snacks, and smiled.
"Lets get the fort ready Ava!"
