ELLA

"Hello," a smirk formed on his face, "Humans,"

I blinked, time seemed to slow down as I looked to my side to look at Ava, who is standing wide eyed and panicked.

"Humans?" I asked, time snapping back into normal speed, my heart is still pounding, and a headache started to surface, I raised an eyebrow at him,

"Any Daemos could tell." He growled, I furrowed my eyebrows, right now isn't the time to be scared, I tried to calm my racing heart, failing miserably.

"Th-then how do we know you are a Daemos!" I blurted, my eyes widened at my impulsive speaking.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "What nonsense are you speaking of? I'm the king of this kingdom! How could I not be a Daemos?" He seemed offended, I then raised my eyebrows.

"Then, if you're a Daemos, you understand that we're Daemos as well," I don't know what I'm trying to do, but please don't call my bluff.

"You own a kingdom?" He asked, skeptically.

I curtsied in front of him, "In the Far East, you'll find our kingdom, though it's hidden away form the rest of Daemos, we are know as The Grey Kingdom," I explained, trying to not fumble over my words.

"Is that so." He scoffed, he obviously isn't buying into this. I raised myself from my curtsy.

"Of course, why would I dare to lie to someone as... powerful as you?" I flattered, his eyes formed into prideful balls.

"I suppose that's true," He gave us a small smirk, my eyes widened as I waved my hand in front of me.

"Suppose? No! You are! I would never dare to lie to you unless I- I... had a death wish!" I exaggerated, he let out a throaty chuckle,

"You're intelligent, and know your place as well." He nodded in approval, I gave him a small bow in response.

I then turned to my side, introducing Ava, "This, is my sister Ava, she is older. Together we are most impressive when it comes to..." my mind wandered back to what Zex had said about Daemos,

"The only 'crisis' Daemos is in is a magic crisis!"

"Finding sources of magic." I proclaimed, of course we aren't experienced in this at all, but if their source of power is human souls...

It's best to not come off as useless.

Besides, we won't stay here long enough to have to prove ourselves. I assured myself.

"What a treacherous claim." He narrowed his eyes at the both of us.

I threw something together in my mind, everything on earth is unfamiliar and 'magical'

"There's more ways to use magic, your highness." I explained, his eyes stayed narrowed as he motioned for me to evaluate.

I felt myself start trembling, I can't keep up this tough and all knowing act for too long.

My head started spinning as I felt pressured to answer his highness.

I'm about to cave- "We have magic cellphones!" I heard an awkward laugh beside me, I looked over at Ava, she gave me a reassuring look and, briefly, I smiled back gratefully,

"Cell-pones?" The king inquired, furrowing his eyebrows, which by the way, are actually pretty well shaped-

"Yes, let me demonstrate," she smiled, reaching for her phone at the same time, when she had it out she took a photo.

The king growled, "What are you doing!" Ava smiled, turning the phone to him to show him the photo she took of him.

"This is called a photo, with a phone, you can capture memories by taking a photo." She explained, he motioned for her to take the phone to him.

She obliged, swiftly making her way up to the throne, then royally presenting the phone.

He calmed at the sight of her submission.

"This, can I take it out?" He asked, pointing to the picture him.

Ava let out a small laugh, shaking her head, "No, it's used for enjoyment." She answers, his eyes went to normal, he stared blankly at the phone for a second.

"How is this used as a magic source." He demanded an answer,

I sighed, pushing myself to go back into a strong mindset.

"That's not a source of magic," I concluded, "Human souls are supposedly the only source you can use, correct?" I asked, tilting my head, he nodded slowly.

"How did you come to that conclusion." I asked, coming up with things to say on the spot.

He bellowed out a laugh, "It's the only source we've used since the beginning of time!" He smirked,

"Well, how could that possibly be true, there couldn't have been humans on Daemos in the beginning." I offered, his eyebrows furrowed.

"What are you talking about," He seemed confused,

"There has to have been a time where Daemos used another material as a magic source before using human souls." I answered curtly,

"You're speaking none sense! Finding human souls is the only solution!" He growled, slamming his fists down on the throne.

"If there was a time when Daemos didn't use human souls, then what they used before must be out there somewhere!" I reasoned, I paused.

He seemed to start to understand, but he still seemed upset.

He sighed, closing his eyes and leaning his head on his hand, "Take them to the royal library, allow my son to accompany them." He ordered the soldiers,

His eyes reopened as he stared down at me,

"I expect results, otherwise look forward to your execution."
