I ran away for good... I think...

Chapter 8

Hiccup's Pov:

"How did you lose your leg lad?" Gobber asked me. I rubbed my neck and took a breath, before continuing with my story. "6 months after leaving Berk, Toothless and I came across the dragon nest." 

"You found the dragon nest, how?" Asked a shocked Chief/Father. "Only a dragon could find their Island. Bur the raids only happened because the dragons didn't have a choice." 

"What do you mean the dragons didn't have a choice?" Asked annoyed Spitelout. "It is cleary they did have a choice!" He said again.

"No, they didn't have a choice. Because they were being made to raid us for food so they could feed their Queen. If they did not bring enough food, they would get eaten themselves by their Queen. They were only doing what they could to survive and to protect their families." I said.

"So, Toothless and I saw an opportunity and we killed the Red Death. No Viking would have ever been able to kill it as. the dragon was as big as Berk." I explained. There was quiet between everyone. 

"My leg was damaged by the fall and Toothless tail was burnt off. If it wasn't for Toothless, I wouldn't be here today." I said. "Where have you been these last 6 years? How did you learn to flight the way you did?" My Father asked me.

"I have lived on an Island called Dragon's Edge for the last 5 years. I was taught how to flight by my friends who live with me on my Island." I said only telling them part of the story and leaving the part out about Hannah and Talia and of course my Mum. "Well, I think that is enough of my story," I said as I stood up from my seat. "Where are you going son?" Dad asked me. "Toothless and I are going to the cove to sleep tonight," I said as I walked out of the Great Hall with Toothless following behind me.

Stoick's Pov:

We all watched as Hiccup leaves the Great Hall with the Night Fury following him. After about 5 minutes everyone started to retreat to there house for the night. I saw Astrid leave the Great Hall as quickly as she could, probably so no one could ask her questions. I still cannot believe that Astrid knew that Hiccup ran away and never told me that she knew.

I was angry with her for not telling me, but I also understand why she did not say anything either. Gobber was the only one left in the Great Hall with me. "He's changed and all grown up Stoick," Gobber said. "Yea, he has changed. But he also has some of the same Hiccup that we once knew 6 years ago." I sighed. Gobber nodded his head as he drunk some more med.

"I will see you tomorrow Gobber," I said as I stood up. "See ya, Stoick." I heard Gobber say as I was walking out the hall. Once I was outside, I started to walk up to the house. When I got home, I went upstairs to see Hiccup's room was empty and remember he was staying at a place called on the cove. Then I retreated to my room for the night.

Valka's Pov:

I was standing on the platform outside my son's house with Heather. "Where are they? They should have been back by now?" I said to Heather as I looked out at the night sky and starting to worry about where my son and Toothless were. "I'm sure Hiccup and Toothless are fine Valka. They probably lose track of time and stopped on an Island somewhere for the night." Heather said. 

"Yeah, we all know how Hiccup always loses track of time, when he is out flying on Toothless," Dagur said coming up from behind us. I just nodded to agree with them. "Night Valka," Heather said as she and Dagur headed to their houses.

"Grandma?" I heard a wee voice say behind me. I turned around and saw my Granddaughter standing there rubbing her eyes with Bluey and Sunset behind her. "Thalia, what are you doing up and out of bed?"

"Where is Daddy?" She asked me. I walked over to her and picked her up. "Daddy is not back from his flight yet sweetie," I told her my Granddaughter. She laid her head on my shoulder and put her thumb in her mouth. 

"Come on sweetie, let's get you back into bed," I said walking up to her room. The time I put Thalia back to bed she had fallen back asleep. I kissed her forehead and left her room. 'Where are you Hiccup.' I thought before I went to my house for the night.
