Chapter 15

Astrid's Pov:

I have been walking around the centre of the Village for about half an hour looking for Hiccup when I saw him sitting up on the hill with Toothless. The same hill when he told me that he had a daughter and had been married already. When he told me all this, I felt betrayed but then I understood why he went through with it. I mean he thought he would never return, and I guess I was thinking of agreeing to marry Snoutlout in the next year if Hiccup had not come back. So, I kinda understood where he was coming from. I know he is worried sick for his daughter as it sounds like she is very sick at the moment, let's hope the other riders will be here soon so she can see a healer to put Hiccup's mind at ease. I started to walk towards the hill when I was stopped by the Chief. "Hello Las, do you know what has gotten Hiccup so worried?" The Chief asked. "Morning Chief. I not too sure. Why do you ask?" I asked him pretending to not know the reason for Hiccup's worry. "He was just really quiet this morning. He wouldn't say one word at all." Stoick said. "He probably just has things on his mind. You know Hiccup." I said to the Chief as I was about to walk away, he spoke again. "Are sure you don't know what is going on with Hiccup. You have been spending a lot of time with him lately since he has been back." He asked. I didn't know what to say back so all I said was, "Sorry Chief. But I don't know what is going on with Hiccup." Then I left it at and carried on up the hill towards where Hiccup was sitting. Morning Hiccup." I said as I sat down beside him and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Morning Astrid." He replied as he placed his arm around me. "Your Father cornered me just before asking about you and what I knew," I said. "Of course, he did. What did you say?" He asked. "Nothing. I just said that I did not know what was going on. How are you?"
"I will be better once the others get here with Thali." Hiccup said looking out to the sea. "Have they left the Edge yet?" I asked. "Yea, they left at sunrise this morning. They sent Speed with a letter letting me know that they were on their way." He explained showing me the letter. "They will be here soon then. Come on we should do something while we wait for them to arrive." I said. Hiccup smiled then he looked at me. "But we are doing something M'Lady. We are sitting here spending time with each other." He said as he pulled me into his side. "I guess we are. Aren't we." I said with a smile. I felt something move from behind me and turned to see Toothless shifting in his sleep. Hiccup leaned back against Toothless pulling me with him as we looked out to the sea just spending time with each other.

Hiccup's Pov"

"Have they left the Edge yet?" She asked. "Yea, they left at sunrise this morning. They sent Speed with a letter letting me know that they were on their way." I explained showing her the letter. "They will be here soon then. Come on we should do something while we wait for them to arrive." She said. I smiled then looked over at her. "But we are doing something M'Lady. We are sitting here spending time with each other." I said pulling her into my side. "I guess we are. Aren't we." She came back with a smile. I felt Toothless shift in his sleep, so I leaned back against Toothless bring Astrid with me. We spent the next half an hour just sitting in silence in each other company when... "Hiccup what is that out there?" Astrid asked pointing out where you could see a couple of dots coming towards us. I turned to get my spyglass out if my saddlebag to look. When I looked through the spyglass, I saw it was Dagur, Heather and my Mother with Thali and they were almost here. "It is them. They are almost here." I said passing Astrid the spyglass for her to have a look. I stood up and kicked Toothless in the side. "Come on Toothless they are almost here. Let's go down and meet them in the centre of the Village before my Father does." I said to him. Toothless stretched before getting up on his feet. I help Astrid of the ground and onto Toothless then I jumped on in front of her. "Come on bud. Let's go." I said as I directed Toothless towards the Village.

Once we got to the Village my Father was gathering people together. "We don't know who these people are or what they want." He started to explain but I interrupted him. "Dad they won't hurt you. They are with me." I said. "Who are they Hiccup?" he asked "My friends that I called here. They are bringing me something and they have someone that is extremely sick with them who needs to see our healer. So, I invited them here." I explained to my Father. "Okay, we will let them come." He said. It wasn't like I was giving him a choice in the matter anyway. 10 minutes later they had landed. "Hiccup," Heather called. "How is she?" I asked as I walked towards my mother and her dragon Stormcloud. "She is getting worse." Mother said. "Get her to the Healer NOW!" I demanded. "On it Hiccup." My mother said before she took off and headed to Gothi's house. I turned to face Heather and Dagur. "Do you guys have the spare tail that I asked you to bring?" I asked them. "We do Hiccup. Here." Heather said as she passed me Toothless spare tail fin. I took the tail fin and walked over to Toothless and connected it to him. "Right Heather I want you to come with me and Sunset we are going to Gothi's house. Dagur I need you to stay here and keep an eye on Bluey for me and the Alpha will help as well." I said while looking over at Toothless. "What!!!" Toothless yelled which I ignored. "Sure Hiccup. Go to her. She will need you." Dagur said. I know that my Father and the Village is watching this interaction between us, but I could not care less. All I cared about was my daughter and her health. I turned to kiss Astrid on the cheek then walked towards Sunset and hope on her. "Heather lets go." She nodded and we both took off towards Gothi's house to see my Daughter.
