The dark room smelt like puke and blood. I hate to think what died in here. Or what could've been tortured.

I'd been here before. Many times. I knew it was a dream and I knew it was a recurring one. A very similar recurring one. Sometimes the room was lighter but most of the time it was dark.

I considered myself lucky I could see in this dark room. I could tell it was almost pitch black but my gift allowed to me to see clear as day.

"Eraeya, stop dreaming and help me. My flames can sense the monster but I still don't have an exact location. You're better in the dark than I am. If we don't get out of here soon then father will put us up against a harder opponent."

I look to my right and see the same girl. The girl with the turquoise eyes, glowing with determination. The same girl that's always with me, that's always fighting by my side. The same girl who looks exactly like me.

Her dark tanned skin from the darkness and fire. Her black as night hair. Her almond shaped eyes, empty of happiness and fun. Her strong yet small build. Exactly like mine.

But the colour of her eyes are different, a bright turquoise to my amethyst. Completely different in ways, yet exactly the same in others.

The funny thing about this dream is that I'm also younger. I think I'm about 4 or 5 and the girl next to me is the same age. In reality, I'm 13 so there's a huge difference in age. But it's always been this way, me as a younger version of myself.

"Eraeya! Earth to Eraeya!" I snap out of my thoughts and focus on the task at hand. After so many of the same dreams, I know exactly what to do depending on which beast I have to face.

"Sorry, I kinda lost focus. I'm here now though. I'm always here for you..." I try to wrack my brains for her name but come up with nothing. The girl looks at me oddly.

"My name is..." She doesn't finish as the beast starts to pounce. Making a flaming sword with her fire, she slashes at the beast. I make abysses with my darkness because that's the first thing that pops into my head.

I've never faced this beast before. I was used to the normal lions or even a weak versions of stronger beasts. But this was unlike anything I'd faced before.

"Eraeya! Make a flame! I don't think the beast likes light. If I can tell, it feeds off darkness and your abysses aren't helping." I nod and shut off the abysses. Creating flames in my hands, I hurl them at the monster. I'm surprised at myself for not losing control but I don't dwell on that thought.

"Damn Eraeya, go for its weak spot. Surely you picked that up already! Stop dreaming! Get it into your head, this could be life or death! What has gotten into you tonight?" She stares at me for a full second as her fire sword drips red blood, the monster trying to get up.

"I'm sorry, I- I just don't feel well."

"Then get your act together. We have to win this battle." Giving the beast a kick in its side, the girl slashes down on the monster's head. More blood sprays everywhere but the creature isn't dead yet, it's huge chest heaving up and down as it gasps for breath.

I hurl more flame balls at it's open wounds and they ignite the head. The monster starts to howl and thrash. Looking at the girl, I can see her palm open wide, expectantly. I know what to do this time.

Creating a huge ball of fire, I throw it to the girl who catches it flawlessly. She then melds it into the tip of her sword. Throwing the sword at the monster's head, the sword cuts through the ball and into the monster's head. The surrounding ball of flame encases the beast's body in flame.

It lets out a huge roar before being completely burnt to ashes and loose body parts. The girl and I pant heavily as we stare at the creature's burnt body.

"You finally upped your game. But what happened back there?" I stare at her, trying to figure her out again. It's like looking into some sort of mirror except this mirror can move freely.

"I- I don't know. I'm sorry."

"You should be. You almost got us either killed or worse, tortured for longer. You need to focus on what we do. This isn't a game. This is life Eraeya. And whether you like it or not, this life is shared between us. So we have to do what we were born to do." I nod and look at the ground. The girl makes a move to comfort me. She sighs as she rubs my back.

"Eraeya, what's gotten into you? This isn't like you at all."

"I- I'm just tired." I lie. I can tell she knows I'm lying but she doesn't push.

"Well, even if you're tired, you should be able to remember your sister's name." I look up, startled. 'She... she was my sister? How had I not... no. This is a dream. Just a dream, nothing more. This isn't reality.' I shake my head.

"I'm exhausted and my brain isn't working. I had a mind blank." She nods. Neither of us say a thing for the next few minutes.

"Come up and eat! You need strength!" A voice booms over our heads and the lights flicker on. I hold my hand over my eyes, against the light.

"Com'on Eraeya. Father is waiting." The girl, my sister, starts to climb some stairs that had appeared. Stopping midway, she sees I'm not following.

"Eraeya! Sena! Come up already!" I gasp quietly and look at Sena. She holds my gaze as she shouts back up that we're coming.

"Eraeya, I need you. Come back to me!"
