Chapter 2

Gabriel couldn't believe he had found his mate. In his eyes, she was perfect the scar on her cheek giving her a rough appearance as her calculated blue eyes took in the room. She seemed wary and he wanted to get to the bottom of the anger that seemed to swirl thickly around her. But he would have to reveal everything and he didn't know if he was ready for that. 

"Would you like to be introduced to the pack Alexa?" Gabriel asked gulping as her eyes fixed him in a glare. It wasn't a harsh glare it was more playful. 

"Why not, but if any of your pack have a problem with me I don't mind proving them wrong" Alexa chuckled as her fangs glinted in the light from the light bulb on the ceiling.

"I'm sure that won't be necessary, after all, I'm sure Cory has informed them of your arrival" Gabriel soothed even though he found her dominance sexy as hell.

"This is the war pack right" Alexa questioned as she picked up a document of his desk.

"Yes it is, do you have a problem with it" Gabriel announced hoping that she wouldn't leave him after hearing what pack he was running.

"Isn't tradition that any of the pack can challenge me to see if I'm worthy of being your mate, Its quite a barbaric tradition but I'm game" Alexa stated as her eyes began to glow gold and her demeanour screamed bloodlust.

"Yes, it is but no killing" Gabriel relented knowing that this was something his pack had employed to weed out the weak. His grandfather started it and he was trying to find a way to put an end to it. 

"Fine, let's go meet them" Alexa sighed before following Gabriel to the outside meeting place.

Gabriel led his mate to the podium that was set up in the clearing for gatherings and training. He spotted several warriors sparring and nodded his head in greeting as the noticed their alpha.

"Everyone gather in the clearing I have some big news" Gabriel commanded through the pack link.

Waiting for everyone to arrive, Gabriel, had a chance to think. Why had his mate killed those rouges and for her to let herself get captured? She truly was a mystery wrapped in an enigma. One he wouldn't mind unravelling. Once all of his pack mates had gathered he stepped up to the podium and cleared his throat. 

"Wolves of the Black Crimson Pack I have met my mate. This is Alexa your alpha female" Gabriel introduced offering his mate his hand. Which she took with a small smile before she masked it for the pack.

"As your tradition demands, I will take on any challengers" Alexa growled the dominance in her voice suffocating for the pack members but Gabriel found it arousing.

 Gabriel was surprised that none of his pack members wanted to challenge his mate. Then again she did look terrifying with her eyes glowing golden and her canines glinting in the sun showing that her wolf was close to the surface and ready for a fight. 

"Then it is concluded Alexa is your alpha female" Gabriel announced. His heart then jumped as the crowded howled and clapped showing their acceptance for his mate. 

"If that is all you may go back to whatever you were doing" Cory spoke as he stepped onto the stage as shooed the pack away.

Gabriel watched his pack scramble to do as their beta had told them, though it was not in fear it was in respect. Their pack had gotten the reputation of being cold and cruel but it wasn't true they were just rough around the edges. They were the best pack to have to come to your aid in a fight though and they were loyal. 

"Well Gabe it looks like that's out of the way can you take me to the room I'll be staying in so I can shower," Alexa asked as she rubbed into Gabriel's side.

"Yes right this way" Gabriel agreed as a spike of desire shot through him like a lightning bolt.

Gabriel led his mate through the packhouse leaving Cory standing on the podium alone and headed straight for his room. When they got there Alexa went through the door first and Gabriel followed after her locking the door behind him. Gabriel watched in interest as Alexa walked around the room stopping at the balcony before she walked into the bathroom. As he sat on the bed waiting for Alexa to finish showering he thought back to the claw marks he had seen on her hips and what they were from. 

Gabriel gulped as Alexa came out of the bathroom in just a towel. Her hair was wet and stuck to her face. And water droplets fell from her hair and pooled on her collar bone. Gabriel swallowed as his wolf tried to come out to mark her but the most drastic was that for all the time he had known her she didn't appear to be full of rage. 

"Here you can wear some of my boxers and my shirt, I'll get one of the females to get you some clothes" Gabriel husked as he gathered the items and held them out to her.

"Thank you" Alexa replied as she reached out for the clothing items only to have the towel around her fall to the floor. 

Gabriel drunk in the sight of her naked form taking in her majesty before his eyes settled on the claw marks that littered her hips. Rising to his feet he placed his hands over her hips tracing the scars with his finger tips.

"How did you get these" Gabriel questioned his eyes locking on to hers. 

"Promise you won't think I'm weak" Alexa whimpered and Gabriel's heart broke as she looked so innocent.

"I got them when I pushed a rouge of me. He tried to take me by force so I snapped his neck and his claws embedded into my skin" Alexa explained as a shiver wracked over her body before it was masked by rage.

"I'm sorry that you had to go through that" Gabriel offered before pulling her flush against aginst his chest and offering her comfort, the first she had in over a year. 

"I got through it fine" Alexa sighed but Gabriel could see that it still caused her tremendous pain.

"I had to kill my mother after my father died as she went crazy and killed several of the pack's members" Gabriel confessed as he heaved a heavy sigh as he finally revealed a secret he thought he'd take to the grave. 

After sharing their vulnerabilities they stood locked in a lovers embrace as they comforted each other. Gabriel the vicious war alpha and Alexa the alpha female feared among rouges for killing the rouge leader.
