Gabriel felt nervous as he stood with his mate and her uncle. His wolf also felt uneasy something would go wrong today and knowing his mate was pregnant and still fighting was a hard pill to swallow. Gabriel had pulled his mate aside earlier in the day and asked if she'd stay out of the fight. Alexa had told him she wanted to ensure the safety of their pack.
The rouge army was closing in at a rapid pace. He could hear their thunderous pawprints across the forest floor. Gabriel was standing in a clearing with his pack mates and the frostfang pack warriors. The moon was shining down in them as the stars rested in the blanket of the night sky.
Gabriel had ordered that the mind link was to be kept open at all times, so that if a rouge slipped past the front line then the person who chased it kept the pack in the loop.
"I love you Gabe" Alexa spoke from beside him as the first rouge broke through the tree line.
"I love you too Alexa you are the best thing to have happened to me" Gabriel responded his eyes focused on the tree line as more rouges stepped into the clearing.
It was time to push his doubts away and focus on protecting his pack, his mate and his unborn pup. As the rouges lined up on the other side of the clearing Gabriel thought many of them looked afraid though he could see some with malicious intent.
"Rember the plan, don't kill them if they aren't trying to kill you" Gabriel ordered through the mind link before he let out a battle howl.
The sound of his voice slicing through the night air. Gabriel shifted into his wolf as Alexa jumped into the fight in her wolf form. He hoped he could keep her in his sights until the leader showed himself. From the way his so-called army was fighting, He wasn't here.
Snarling at a rouge who nipped at his back leg Gabriel picked him up and tossed him into a tree rendering him unconscious. Gabriel turned his attention back to Alexa. She was taking down rouges left and right having killed two who had gone to bite her belly.
Gabriel's heart thundered in worry. Though he realised it was unfounded as his mate knocked a few rouges away from her. Gabriel truly loved her and thought he was the luckiest werewolf alive to have her for a mate.
"Help the leader snuck past you and is outside the saferoom, I'm injured I can't hold him back anymore, the other warrior with me is already dead" Lindsey spoke into the mind link.
Gabriel's blood froze as he realised his gamma was in danger. He spotted Alexa give Elijah the slip and then run towards the orphanage. He was about to follow her but he was stopped by a dark grey rouge. The wolf snapped at him venomously as another two wolves joined him to face the war alpha.
With a snarl Gabriel attacked, hoping he could finish this in time to help his mate.

Lindsey started down the rogue wolf in front of her. She kept her eyes on the rouge leader as they circled one another. Lindsey was bleeding heavily from her shoulder and her back leg was broken. The warrior who had been guarding the safe room with her was dead having been killed by the rouge in front of her.
Having scent the message that he was here through the mind link Lindsey hoped she could hold him off until help arrived. She would not let him get anywhere near the pups and pregnant mothers. She knew why he had chosen to come here, Greyson and Nicholas would have the same familial scent as her alpha. This idiotic wolf knew nothing, as a gamma Lindsey would protect her alphas family with her life.
With a snarl, Lindsey pushed off her back legs. Snapping her jaws in his face Lindsey jumped back as he tried to bite into her throat. Bearing her teeth Lindsey charged wrapping her jaws around his front left paw and biting down.
Lindsey whimpered as he threw her into the wall with a flick of his paw. He was strong and Lindsey knew she wouldn't be able to win. If she died she would die protecting those she loved. With a shake of her head, Lindsey growled again and jumped onto the rouges back.
Grabbing the back of his neck Lindsey tried to get a good grip, clawing into his sides only to be thrown off his back. Lindsey hit the ground with a thud, the impact breaking her spine making it impossible for her to stand.
As the Rouge turned Lindsey snarled at him. He only gave her a wolfish smirk before he wrapped his jaws around her throat. She could taste her blood in her mouth as he squeezed her windpipe. A thundering growl caused Lindsey to look in the direction the sound came from.
The last thing that she saw was her alpha female. Alexa's red wolf distinguishable by the three claw marks on her cheek. Her alphas eyes were glowing with rage. Lindsey had done her job and bought time. With one final breath, Lindesys eyes slipped forever closed.

As Luke ripped out Lindsey's throat he heard the growl. Letting go of the lifeless body in his mouth he turned to see the Alpha female he was hunting. Upon seeing her he took a step back.
Her entire being was vibrating with rage as her golden eyes fixed him in place with murderous intent. Suddenly afraid Luke took another step back only to bump into a wall. Turning around to glare at the wall Luke snarled.
Shaking his head Luke growled at the female in front of him. She was a female, he had nothing to worry about. With a snort, Luke pushed himself off the wall and attacked the female. She would die for her transgressions against him, she was not worth having offspring with.
