Chapter 15

Alexa felt her stomach do a slow roll as Gabriel carried her to the pack doctor. As he jogged through the medical wing corridor Alexa felt her wolf rise in her mind with anticipation. It seemed as if her inner wolf knew something that she didn't. 

"We're here" Gabriel breathed as they reached the waiting room. 

Looking around the room Alexa growled low in her throat as she spotted several injured wolves. Her members had fought bravely and honourably to protect the pack from the danger that Alexa had brought with her. 

"Alpha's is everything alright" A male wolf who was acting as the secretary asked as his eyes took in the sight of Alexa in Gabriel's arms. 

"We hope, we need to see the pack doctor is she free," Gabriel asked as he tightened his grip on Alexa. 

"Yeah Ellie just finished with her last patient, so go on in" the male spoke as a wolf came out of the doctor's room. 

"Thank you Fred" Alexa stated as Gabriel carried her towards the doctor.

As Gabriel pushed open the door Alexa's looked around the room before her eyes landed on the pack doctor Ellie. The pack doctor was a short woman around 5ft with straight black hair that was tied in a bun. As she turned around Alexa found Ellie's caramel eyes to be inviting as a smile curved on her round face. 

"What can I do for you today Alpha's," Ellie asked as Gabriel lay Alexa on the patient chair. 

"I threw up my breakfast and I feel a bit nauseous" Alexa explained smiling at the older woman as she nodded in understanding.

"Have you got any other symptoms" Ellie questioned as she approached the bed. 

"No I feel fine" Alexa answered as the nauseous feeling started to fade. 

"I have a feeling what it might be, Alpha Alexa will you lift your shirt for me," Ellie asked as she wheeled over the ultrasound machine. 

"You think I'm pregnant" Alexa gasped in surprise as she lifted her shirt for the doctor. 

"It couldn't hurt to look" Ellie stated as she squirted the gel onto Alexa's stomach. 

Looking up at her mate Alexa found his eyes looking back at her with love and tenderness. The sheer force of it caused a lump in her throat as Ellie started moving the wand around. Squeezing her mates hand Alexa offered him a smile as a soft thumping started in the room. Tears sprung to her eyes as the soft heartbeat continued to thump quietly and her wolf yipped with happiness.

"Congratulations Alpha Alexa your pregnant" Ellie congratulated as she wiped the gel away. 

"We're going to be parents," Gabriel said happily and Alexa could see he was trying not to cry. 

"Yes, we are" Alexa agreed, smiling happily as she wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. 

"the pack will be so happy to know that you are expecting" Ellie gushed her grin ear-splitting as she looked on proudly. 

"We can't tell anyone yet, we still have a war to fight" Alexa quickly stated knowing this wasn't the time be celebrating. 

"I agree this stays in this room until the battle is won" Gabriel added as Alexa pulled her shirt down and got off the bed. 

"Very well, but the pack will be able to smell the change in the next few days and the heartbeat is still to quite to hear without a monitor" Ellie assured to put the minds of her Alpha's at ease. 

"Thank you for your time Ellie but we must get back to the strategy meeting" Alexa spoke as she pulled Gabriel to the door. 

"No problem dear" Ellie replied as she waved them goodbye. 

Walking hand in hand with her mate back to the kitchen Alexa laid her hand on her stomach, brushing her fingers over the place where her pup was growing. Dropping her hand as they came to the kitchen Alexa smiled at the scene before her. 

Her parents were very much a part of the meeting as the question Cory and Lindsey about pack safety and how frequent the attacks were happening. Turning her attention to her uncle she saw the man was suppressing bearly hidden rage. Even Brendon her usually fun-loving uncle had a look of a wolf who was on a mission to kill. 

"Ah Alpha's, finally you're here" Cory spoke looking relieved as Alexa's parents stopped their questions to greet their daughter.

"Are you alright honey what did the doctor say?" Greyson asked as he walked over to his daughter and gave her a once over. 

"It was just fatigue from blood loss" Alexa lied hoping to ease his fear. 

"That's good, we don't want you to be sick darling" Nicholas added from beside his mate knowing that Alexa wasn't telling the full truth but he wasn't going to push it. 

"Now that your back, let's discuss the strategy, so everyone knows what's going to happen" Cory spoke as Alexa led Gabriel further into the room, which was crowded with both packs warriors.

"Very well" Alexa agreed. putting her alpha hat on pushing the fact that she was going to be a mother further into her mind. 

"We are expecting the attack to happen at night just as the previous one did. We will be putting all pregnant mothers and pups as well as those who can't fight inside the panic room, where we have stationed Nicholas and Greyson just in case. Outside the room, we'll have Gamma Lindsey and another warrior. The rest of us will be fighting on the front line. If you get injured retreat and form a backline. The rouge that's leading all of this is forcing rouges to join him so render your opponent unconscious unless they try to kill you and then in that case lethal force is permitted. The leader will probably go after Alexa so Alpha Elijah and Gabriel will be with her at all times to prevent a one on one fight. You all have your instructions let us fight for the safety of the Black Crimson pack" Cory explained finishing off with a battle cry. 

The rest of the day Alexa spent helping to make sure everyone was prepared for battle and fitted with shifting armour. As night fell Alexa knew someone she cared about would die, it was instinct and her wolf knew it too.

"It's nightfall, all you lazy good for nothing losers start attacking" Luke growled his eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep. 

"Yes sir" Came a hesitant grumble from the crowd of rouges Luke had managed to gather. 

Among them, he only had ten loyal followers but they would do what he told them or they would die from his hand. Tonight he would capture that alpha female force her to breed with him to produce an heir and then he would kill her. He would also kill anyone who got in the way especially that mate of hers. 

With a twisted grin, he gave the command to charge before he shifted into his wolf and ran into the alpha females territory. Luke would have revenge and he would have it before day broke.
