flashback to when y/n and varo were 6..
(third person point of view)

"alright kids your parents are here!" the teacher called out to all the little kids. varo and y/n started to head out together holding hands and skipping along the sidewalk to their parent's car.

"y/n your mommy is waiting for you" the little six year old boy said to y/n with a frown on his face.

"don't worry we can ask my mommy and your mommy to hang out today at the park for the first time!" the little girl said excitingly jumping up and down. a few seconds later the boy joining her. both their parents come out of the car and impatiently go walk towards their kids.

"baby it's time to go now" the little girl's mother said to the sad little girl in front of her. before walking towards the car the little girl ran to the little boy and hugged him causing him to kiss her forehead.

"wait you didn't ask if we could have our play date later y/n!" the boy said looking even more sad then before. both moms look down to y/n waiting for the question. they patiently wait for a few seconds before y/n breaks the silence.

"CAN WE HAVE A PLAY DATE MOMMY?" y/n yells jumping up and down. varo joins her as they both excitingly yell hoping the moms would say yes.

"okay okay, as long as if it's okay with your mom, varo." says y/m/n smiling and looking over at varo's mom. she smiles before saying.

"okayyy, my house?" varo's mom asks. y/m/n nods and picks up y/n.

"does right now work for you?" y/m/n asks.

"of course, i can take your daughter back to our house and i can drive her back to yours. since i know you're pretty busy today." she says giving a soft smile.

"oh, that would be great! thank you so much." y/m/n says giving a big warm smile. she puts y/n down on the sand and grabs her shoulders to give her a kiss on the forehead. as she hugs her she realizes she's late for work. "oh god, i have to go to work right now but, behave well, sweetie! mommy loves you" y/m/n says hugging her daughter one more time.

"love you too mommy!!" the little girl says hugging her mom then letting go once she had to leave for work in a rush. y/m/n's is pulling out of the parking lot when y/n turns around to varo and his mom smiling and jumping up and down. varo joins before Mrs. Romero interrupts.

"wanna go get ice creammm?" she says dragging the sentence while smiling.

"YES!" both the little kids yell out smiling even more than before. Mrs. Romero waits behind so the two kids could get to the car safely.

once they park in front of their favorite ice cream place; Dairy Queen. they get off the car as Mrs. Romero holds both the kid's hand. once they ordered y/n gets her strawberry ice cream and varo gets his chocolate chip ice cream. they go to a nearby table and sit on the chairs. as y/n is about to take bite from her ice cream varo accidentally drops her spoon with a bit of ice cream on it.

"VAROO!!" the little girl yells upset. the little boy almost already in tears stands up.

"ITS NOT MY FAULT!" he says annoyed at the fact that she blamed him for something he never meant to do. the little boy's mom stands up from her chair and picks up the spoon as she throws it away, she gets a new one for y/n but y/n was still upset. it was quiet until she spoke up.

"never gonna forgive you for this varo" she says as tears drop her eyes. varo couldn't do anything but keep quiet not knowing what to say. he was hurt but he hoped she would eventually forgive him.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

"so that's the argument i was taking about y/n i never knew you guys argued again and i thought you guys would remember each other" Mrs. Romero claims to her boy and     y/n.

"i would've never expected to know y/n when i was younger.. she looked familiar but i thought it would've just been from online or something." varo says more confused than ever. y/n nods her head.

"yeah same.." she says still processing the fact that she knew him at six years old and younger.

"WAIT WAIT! so varo knew y/n longer than me? i object this instant!" she said gasping for dramatic affect, causing them all to laugh.

"well, i have to go back to the porch to serve pie, you kids coming?" Mrs. Romero says. all of the three kids nod and head to the porch with her.

on the way there varo and y/n nudge each other's shoulder and laugh from the story.
