there was my dad.. sitting against the kitchen counter. and my mom, standing in the corner of the room with a knife in her hand and a frightened look on her face. i felt like i couldn't breathe. my whole life, was slowly...dying? i didn't know what to do, but the first thing i did was fall down to the ground. i pulled out my phone and quickly dialed 911. "MY M-MOM JUST STABBED M-MY DAD! PLEASE COME QUICK!" my voice was trembling. after they said they sent help i hung up and yelled at my mom. "WHAT THE HELL! YOURE- YOURE CRAZY! SIT DOWN AND WAIT FOR THE COPS! I HOPE THEY TAKE YOU AWAY SO YOU CAN NEVER HURT US AGAIN YOU FUCKING MONSTER!" i yelled at her.. as i called her crazy i remembered celia calling me crazy the first time i fought her. i ignored my thoughts about celia and tried to calm my dad and i down. "dad.. look at me, we're gonna live happy. i promise. just please keep holding my hand until the ambulance get here.." i grabbed his hand and held it tight. i sat down besides my dad and i pulled my knees against my chest. one arm around my legs and my other resting on the floor holding my dad's hand.

*few minutes pass*

the ambulance get here and i see police cars. a few police officers circle my mom and after she puts her hands up and falls to the ground on her knees a police officer grabs her hands and grabs his handcuffs to arrest her. or at least till they test the dna on the knife and get enough evidence. i was shaking as a few nurses came in the house to grab my dad, i didn't let go of his arm until a police officer had to pull me away. i didn't know who they were and i didn't care, i sobbed onto their chest. as they softly rubbed my back. i looked up to see a lady with bright blue eyes and beautiful blond hair. she speaks up eventually.

"it's going to be okay, and is that your mother?" she said pointing towards my mom in the backseat of the police car. i nod and she wipes my tears. "well we're gonna need you to talk to us about everything you heard and saw. after that if we get enough information, she'll be locked up. and about your father, he's a great man. i went to school with him in high school" she said smiling as she softly closed her eyes.

"did you guys date?" i asked her. i realized it was really random and sudden because she gave me a shocked face. "sorry, i guess it's just because you look like you have heart eyes for him." i said as i giggled. she chuckled.

"well, i wish. he was one of the most amazing men. we talked and hung out but then.. your mother was new to the school and she caught his eye. and then they just ended up together, i didn't know they were still together.. oh my god. i am so sorry for talking about him like that, especially in the situation you are with your mother and him." she said as she looked down.

"oh no it's okay actually. i don't consider her my mom as of right now. so you got your chances, ms?" i said as i waited for her to finish the sentence.

"mrs. castano." she said smiling.

"m- you're married.." i said awkwardly laughing.

"it's fine, i got divorced a few years ago" she said as she shrugged.

"sorry i didn't mean to-" before i finished she interrupted me.

"it's okayy" she said laughing. i laughed along and it was a few seconds after that i realized the last name. excitingly and confidently i asked her.

"you have a son? mariano?" i said with a grand smile on my face. she laughed at my smile from saying his name. i didnt like him but he was really cute so..

"yes i do, and you're the family that was gonna take him?" she said asking.

"take him? orrr, i mean yeah." i said confused by what she meant. did she not want him?

"sorry i didn't explain, it's hard taking care of him alone, and i thought that your mother was gonna take care of him with your father. i want him to grow with a happy family. but now, im not sure actually."

"we would love to take care of him, and since it's hard for my dad and hard for you.. maybe we could all grow up together? like you and my father raise us bothhh.. that was a crazy idea im sorry haha, i just think you guys would work great together"

"that's really sweet of you, i would love to. it'll be nice learning the ways of the y/l/n's! but again it's mostly your father's decision. and my son would be staying in a month or two if you and your father are okay with my able to live with you guys. if your father even remembers me haha! but take care im gonna head out now, text me when you guys think you have a plan." she smiled and handed me a card with her number from an old business from 2016. i smiled at the thought of living with them. i would have to get to know them first of course. but other then that. it would be amazing. i drove to school and since i missed one or two classes, i would go to lunch in a few minutes with the 'gang' so i could explain everything.
