2 ~ Friends

You groaned as you felt a weight on top of you crushing your lungs, you lazily opened your eyes seeing an smiling seonghwa sitting on you

"seonghwa, get off. I can't breath" you wheezed out as seonghwa grabbed your shoulders and shook them in an excited manner

"today is the day" he said with a sparkle in his eyes and you wheezed out a laugh as he finally climbed off of you. You lazily got up from your bed "relax, we still have classes today so don't get too excited yet" you laughed out.

"but it's officially the fifth year of our friendship" he sang out in a happy tone and you grabbed his shoulders and pushed with all your weight as you lead him to your bedroom door. You gave a final shove and he stumbled out of your room

"yeah I know hwa, but we have CLASS, now get ready" you laughed seeing he still had his pajamas on and you closed the door as you went to get ready. You put on a pair of jeans and a random t shirt, then you shoved your laptop into your bag before you zipped it closed. You slung the bag over your shoulder and walked out of your room to see seonghwa dressed and sitting on the couch, his own backpack was half on his shoulder while he looked at his phone

"ready to go hwa" you asked and seonghwa looked up at you and smiled before putting his phone away "yep, let's go" he happily got up from the couch and you both went to the front door.

You shoved on a random pair of shoes and so did seonghwa, but as you were about to open the door seonghwa grabbed your hand. Your heart started racing at the gesture "let's go" seonghwa smiled while he opened the door and dragged you out of the apartment. You fumbled with the door but managed to close it with your one free hand and you stumbled down the stairs of the small apartment building with seonghwa.

You walked down the street while seonghwa was rambling "it's going to be such a fun day, after you come home from your late classes I will already have everything set up so we can just get on the bus. Then we can exchange gifts. Then we can-" seonghwa continued ranting excited for the day as you tried to listen but your eyes were fixated on his hand that gently held yours as you walked down the street.

As cheesy as it sounded you wished this moment would never end. Seonghws bright smile, the small laughs he let out every now and then, and the warmth from his hand.

However, you were snapped away from your thoughts when his hand was removed from yours and you looked up seeing your class room door in front of you. You had no idea how time seemed to pass so quickly but seonghwa yelled

"alright I'll see you at home later, have a good day" he waved his hand excitedly while he raced down the halls to get to his own class.

You smiled while walking into your own class and you prepared yourself for endless classes.

You yawned as you walked down the street, the sky was dark and you were exhausted. You lazily scuffed your feet against the ground as your small apartment building came into view. You walked inside and trudged up the stairs, then you walked to the familiar door.

You knew it would be unlocked since seonghwa got home first so you opened the door and walked inside. 

"what is going on" you screamed as your eyes widened while you dropped your bag on the ground when you saw the kitchen was one fire.

Well not a huge fire, just a pan, but there was a panicked seonghwa running around as he dumped a burnt unknown food into the sink and he turned on the tap. The fire died down from the water while you ran over and opened a window letting the smoke out before the detector could go off

You sighed in relief as the smoke began ventilating out and you looked to the side to see seonghwa's panicked face "I was trying to make your favorite food and I quickly went to get your present from my room and it burned" you furrowed your eyebrows listening to him but soon you started laughing loudly, you felt tears form in your eyes as you laughed harder

"come on y/n, it's not that funny" seonghwa whined while you calmed down "right, sorry hwa I appreciate you trying" you snorted seeing the burnt lump in the sink and you tried to hold in your laugh

But then seonghwa's eyes widened while he opened his phone and he screamed "NO, we missed the bus" he pouted while you smiled at him

"it's alright, we don't have to go out to the movie theater. How about we pack some food and we go to the roof" you suggested and seonghwa smiled "yeah, okay" you opened your fridge and packed some drinks while seonghwa packed some snacks. You both walked out of your apartment and traveled to the large rooftop huffing as you both climbed the stairs. Soon you arrived at the door at the top and you pushed it open feeling the slight breeze hit your face

You then walked out onto the small rooftop and you lazily sat down. Seonghwa sat next to you while you ripped open a bag of chips and munched on them, you smiled as you saw the stars, tonight was one of the days where the stars decided to be seen, it was a rare sight in the city.

You and seonghwa sat side by side as you both silently admired the scenery in the sky, but then you suddenly remembered. You shoved your hand into your pocket, the gift you bought was something you hoped seonghwa would like.

You both loved the stars and you had seen a very cute bracelet on display in a store window a week ago while walking to school, it was a simple chained thin bracelet with a star on it. You had seen a matching one in blue but you thought seonghwa would like the light yellow one better.

You took the bracelet out of your pocket and you lifted it to show him but you heard seonghwa speak "the gift I got- oh" 

You both froze when you held your hands up. Each hand holding a bracelet, the matching bracelet in blue was held up in seonghwas hand

Soon you both began laughing loudly and you smiled as seonghwa put the bracelet on your wrist after his laughing fit. You then placed the bracelet you got him on his wrist as well

"well I guess we are just meant to be together forever huh" he chuckled out while your heart raced. Your eyes fell on the matching bracelets and you thought

we look like a couple

But what little hope you had was crushed as seonghwa spoke again "to five years of friendship and many more"

Right...friends

You forced a smile "yeah, friends forever"
