Drinks Are Us (Two Men in a Bar)
'So, Harry, here's to the future.'
Mike raises his drink
Harry shakes his head
Doesn't know what to think
'I don't know what I'm going to do.
The old ways will be gone everything will be new.'
Mike smiles and sips from his glass
'Why get upset, see what comes to pass.'
Harry takes a swallow
His next words sound hollow
'The whole world is going to change.
I won't know how to act it will all be strange.'
Another sip and Mike looks at his friend
'You make it sound like the world's going to end.'
Another swallow, a forlorn stare
Harry mutters that life isn't fair
'There's too much to consider, too much to review.
I don't think I can face it; I don't know about you.'
Harry stands up and says 'Goodbye.'
'It's a chance to make things better.' Mike's final try
The bartender remarks, 'He left his glass half empty.
How about you, another pull?'
Mike shakes his head. 'No thanks, mine's still half full.'
