A/N: I'm aware it's a MGK song and the normal chapter titles are Eminem songs but I feel this really fits, I also happen to love this song and think it's perfect for their situation ❤️

-2 Years Later, January 2006-

I want you forever,
Even when we're not together,
Scars on my body so I can take you wherever like,
I want you forever,
Even when we're not together,
Scars on my body I can look at you whenever.

Ella put her hand on her hips and pursed as she watched one of the employees arrive late, again, today of all days she wasn't in the mood.

"Can you at least try to not be late?"

"Sorry Ella, the bus is never in time"

She felt guilty know full well this person was a good worker.

She nodded to coffee bar and they begun to work.

She sighed to herself and walked into her office, sitting in her chair.

She eventually finally picked herself up after ending things with Marshall, that's not to say she was healed, she didn't think that would ever happen, she gained a bit of weight back and looked healthy again, swearing off drugs and alcohol in the process, she was now 2 years sober.

2 years sober of the drug that was Marshall Mathers.

The day she went to the bank to get what seemed like the last of her money she had to survive as she was struggling to find another job she was flawed by the lump sum that was sitting in there, after trying to return it to Paul to give back to Marshall multiple time he refused, said Marshall insisted since she'd lost her job because of him and that it was to tie her owner until she was back on her feet, she would never forget the pity and sadness in Paul's voice.

She'd seen Marshall on tv, he didn't look good, he was always wasted in interviews, he had eventually attempted to pull himself together, but he was clearly destroyed by the whole thing, Ella had found out he was back with Kim and his daughters, another of which he'd adopted which bought the total up to three, after a few run ins with the law he was also given full custody.

She was happy he got custody, it was the one thing she wanted for him, for him to have his daughters.

Marshall eventually stopped calling and texting, it wasn't without a final message confessing undying love for her, and that hurt like hell, even after 2 years, she has all the messages saved, call her a masochist but she just couldn't let go of that, a reminder she once sacrificed the love of her life so he could be with his family.

It changed her and she still couldn't bring herself to date, it felt like a betrayal almost as stupid as she said it sounded, she would still buy his albums and listen to them still, she still wanted to support him, she was glad he was still making music and was excited that his career really took off, sometimes she picked up a few things that possibly could have related to her in his rhymes but she always brushed them off.

After holding onto the money for a few months, failing to return it, she invested some of it in a small cafe, which turned out to be very successful, she hired Sara to manage it and she help out with the other workload.

Eventually the hype of her being Eminem's heartbroken ex-girlfriend also wore off and her notoriety died down, which she was happy about as she managed to return to a normal life.

A life without Marshall by her side, and it sucked.

After finishing paperwork and gathering her thoughts she walked back out to the serving area to help clean up, as she looked up she was greeted with a hooded pair of the very same ocean blue eyes she'd been avoiding all this time.

"Ella?"

It was only him quietly uttering those words that sent her body into a frenzy of panic, they were both soothing and dangerous at the same time, she looked around the store, a few people sitting on laptops, minding their own business and then back at him, over come with shock, she grabbed the bench.

He leaned over the counter and reached for her arm "Are you ok?"

His hood moving back over his blond hair, face exposed, he was just as handsome as she remembered, suddenly his scent hit her and her cold chest warmed, the feeling of happiness and nostalgia hitting, which was followed by a pang of heartache.

She nodded and turned to walk into the office to sit down on the couch, she felt winded, Marshall following closely behind her.

"I'm glad you got back in your feet, this place is great" Marshall said "Paul's obsessed with it, he's always sending the assistant here"

"All thanks to you, I still want to give you that money back"

Marshall waved his hand "Don't"

"How are your daughters" Ella asked.

His face lit up at the very mention of them.

"They're doin great, they're getting so big"

"I'm so happy for you" Ella smiled, even though she was trying to hide the pain, she was genuinely happy for him "I'm glad you got them back"

Marshall sat down across from her, his eyes staring with intensity "You're just as beautiful as I remember"

"Marshall don't, please"

He sighed and looked down, he knew he shouldn't be saying those things.

"Why are you here?"

He moved in his seat, leaving back, a sheepish expression coming across his face "Proof slipped out and said you owned it"

"So you came to stalk me?" Ella chuckled.

Marshall smiled at her, he had missed her like crazy, he missed that smile, there wasn't a moment of the day he didn't think about her, hell even when he was fucking Kim he was telling himself it was Ella, but it wasn't the same.

Kim was nothing but poison and hatred and he had no idea why he was still with her even though he had the girls, perhaps it was to avoid the loneliness.

"What about Kim?"

"What about her?"

"Does she known you're here?" Ella asked, she didn't want him getting into trouble.

"She's probably off somewhere sucking someone else's cock or snorting coke" He said very confidently "I also heard you're sober, congratulations"

"I am" She smiled proudly "2 years"

"You promised I wouldn't loose you"

"Marsh you haven't, you know you always hold my heart, theres just other priorities in your life that were more important"

"And I'm going to be forever grateful for that, trust me, there is not a day that goes by that I don't ever think about what you did for me, it's just I, Well, I can't ever forget you, I've tried"

"I know, but this is how it has to be, plus you have Kim now, your family, you can't abandon that"

It was like a dagger through his heart.

How the fuck did he find such a kind hearted woman.

He really didn't want to live without her, her leaving him really changed him, it broke him.

"Following up on that promise, can we be friends? I don't want to loose you again Ella, what do you say?"

She thought for a moment, it was a very dangerous propersition, the the fire they both held for each other wasn't a force to be ignored, but she didn't see why not, if they were careful ofcouse.

They were both adults, what could possibly go wrong?

"Ofcouse Marshall, i'd like that, friends it is"
