Cynthia walked down the stairs with a large pink suitcase in her hand.
"Wow nice outfits," Juliet said looking up at them.
Cynthia smiled and looked at Juliet. It hadn't occurred to her before, but she realized that Juliet and Danielle had matching outfits on. She must have not been paying attention earlier. Juliet had on overalls and so did Danielle. They both had on t-shirts and Cynthia couldn't help but notice the color difference between the two.
"I like your outfits too." said Cynthia. She looked at Juliet and then at Danielle. Juliet and Danielle exchanged glances and Danielle smiled softly.
"Okay girls," called Gwendy dramatically. "I'm ready!"
Juliet and Danielle's eye contact broke and their heads turned. They stared at Gwendy. Cynthia turned around and saw Gwendy on the stairs behind her. Gwendy was wearing a light purple metallic dress with a purple shaw. The shaw had long flowy sleeves which made her look similar to a hippie. For how bubbly Gwendy's personality was, the outfit seemed to suit her well. Gwendy flipped back her golden curls and pointed to her shoes. She was wearing high metallic purple boots, which of course, had high heels on the bottom of them. With high heels on, Gwendy was the tallest in the room. Gwendy was origanally taller than everyone else, but now it was more obvious than ever.
Cynthia half smiled. "Well then," she started. "Gwendy and I will be on our way out soon." she looked over at Juliet. "We're going to drop Haisley off at your house then we'll go search for the orange host." Haisley walked over to Cynthia and grabbed the pink suitcase which contained her belongings. Haisley kept her eyes lowered to the floor. Cynthia walked over to the door and Gwendy followed.
"Wait," said Juliet. "How will we stay in contact?"
"With phones." said Cynthia. She looked over at Gwendy whose phone had been destroyed by water damage. Gwendy was giving her a sad look. "Gwendy and I can use my phone," she started, "and I'll get your phone for you, Juliet, when we drop Haisley off okay?"
"Okay man," said Juliet with a smile. "Sounds great."
"Well." said Cynthia. "I guess I'll see you guys in a bit. If anything gets out of hand when we part ways, call me okay?"
"Okay." said Juliet. Juliet spoke for Danielle, Danielle just nodded in silence.
"See ya around man." called Juliet. "And good luck. Make sure you remember my phone okay? We won't leave until you get back with it,"
"Okay." said Cynthia. She waved goodbye to Juliet and Danielle, and Gwendy did the same. Haisley held onto Cynthia's hand, with her pink suitcase in the other. Haisley's favorite color was pink as well as Cynthia's.
The three of them left the house, and trudged along the forest path at a sedate pace. Cynthia's mind was focused on finding the orange host, but she also wanted Haisley to be safe. Taking her to Juliet's house would be the most ideal option for them.
The forest was ancient, yet very large and continued to grow. The trees were thick and old and consisted of roots that were twisted. It's canopy was so dense that anyone who wondered in could only see the occasional streak of sunlight that rarely touched the forest floor.
Cynthia made her way over large broken branches to a long dirt path which was scrambling through the forest. Cynthia had created a path to Juliet's house. She had created many other paths, but this one she knew well.
Gwendy followed her, bouncing slightly as she walked. She walked with extreme confidence, and her golden curls moved with her. Her golden curls were almost like an afro of sunshine on her head. "So," said Gwendy. "How long have you known Juliet?"
