Vividless's blood rained upon the land. The blood that had flowed so freely in his evil veins, now laid in pools around his dead corpse and soaked into the land beneath him. His reign of terror was over. The swirling storms of grey and silver in the sky had disappeared. The murky, black ocean waves regained their color. Wonderful blue glistened throughout the seas, and yellowy-gold sand sparked along the seashore. The obsidian ground from the battle remained underneath of them, but color spread across the world.
Half of the forests, that were once filled with life in New Zealand, were completely destroyed and nothing more was left behind than their ashes. The trees that sheltered so many with their spreading canopy of green and provided so much were now lifeless sticks of charcoal, no more vibrant than the old lamp-posts in the city.
The ocean waves picked up the remains of Vividless's dead body, and swept them out into the deep sea. The waves rolled in, each of them as strong and bold as the last. They came without fear of the beach, embracing their destiny upon the dawn sands. The waves came in as a deep aquamarine and turned golden as they churned the sand on the shore. They broke around the rocks in the shallows, their foam crests became a chaotic lace over the blue.
"We did it..." Cynthia said softly. She used her powers to redirect the falling droplets of blood away from them. It took a second or two for the sight to sink it, even though it was right before her eyes. Then she felt her lips stretch wider into a grin and her eyebrows arched for the sky. She had done it. They had won.
Tears of happiness and pure exhaustion rolled down Juliet's cheeks. She ran over to Cynthia and grabbed her hand tightly. Adeline was a bloody mess, nose smashed and eyes almost shut with swelling. She looked above as the blood circled it's way around them; Cynthia was still redirecting it with her mind. She stared at Cynthia in awe, wondering how one so fragile could achieve this level of talent. She walked over to Cynthia and grabbed her other hand.
Danielle walked up behind Juliet, her hands were frailty and caution, shaking gently when she reached for Juliet's hand. Juliet wrapped her fingers around Danielle's and smiled. Gwendy came over as well and reached her hand out and grabbed onto Adeline's. The five of them held hands, until Cynthia realized something. "Wait..." Cynthia looked around, "Where's Tyla?"
The five of them searched the area. Very small remains of flesh and blood still rested on the surface of the area from the explosive impact of Vividless's death. The breeze grew strong against the tides and Gwendy wiped her head around. "No..." she spoke in a weary tone. Her heart dropped and her eyes widened. She fell to her knees. Tyla's body was laying on the ground being pushed gently against the waves.
Blood was flowing out from the side of Tyla's stomach. She must have gotten injured during the impact. Gwendy starred, unable to move, as blood gushed from Tyla's wounds. She ran to Tyla's side and fell upon her knees. "No..." she whispered, feeling the blood soak into her uniform. "Don't leave us! I mean it!"
Tyla had held her hand to the large slash in her side, but no matter how much pressure she applied the blood had still gushed between her fingers and oozed under her hand. It had spread into Gwendy's damp uniform. The bright red quickly darkened, taking on a brownish hue. Those moments Gwendy spent pleading with Tyla to look at her, to stay with her, feeling the very fluid of her life drain away over her cold hands, Tyla felt nothing at all.
"Gwendy what are you doing man!" cried Juliet. Tears formed into Juliet's eyes and she ran over. Danielle, Adeline and Cynthia ran over after Juliet. Juliet stood above Gwendy and Tyla with a traumatized expression. "Heal her!"
"I can't!" screamed Gwendy. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she felt weak. Her energy was too drained out. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't activate her powers. Her mind felt dull and her body was too worn out and weary.
