Suddenly Vividless broke through the ice and the green flames dispersed into thin air. The chunks of ice that he managed to break through went launching across the black sea and disappeared out of existence. The dark magic that he had from within was calling. This was not just fire, it was death. It was in giant waves of gas, a black heated storm, rolling in on itself, undulating like some grotesque creature hell-bent, and it was hurtling right towards them at a staggering speed.

The darkness Vividless possessed was like no other. His darkness was a strange substance; like ice that has three states solid, liquid, and gas, but with a twist. Since it was of mystical material, it didn't fall under the laws of science, only able to change states by the user.

The blazing darkness destroyed everything mercilessly in its path mercilessly. A look of terror spread across Tyla's face. Cynthia and Adeline both shot up massive amounts of fire and ice into the air to delay the dark waves from hitting them.

The sweat was salty on Adeline's lips. She positioned her hands in the direction of Vividless and flames came bursting out from the center of her palms. Her hands shook from exhaustion but she pushed through it. The darkness was briefly held back by the flames yet rushed forward toward them again  when she stopped. She thought of trying to summon something, anything, but knew it would be in vain against the shapeless attack.

The ice from underneath Cynthia's feet projected her higher into the air, but the oxygen in the sky grew thinner and made it harder to breath. Cynthia shot up chunks of ice towards the dark shadows, but her ice did nothing more than cut right through them.

Danielle let her dragon claws cut deep into the obsidian ground beneath them and breathed fire in the direction of the dark gases. Bolts of blue lightning struck at the darkness causing it to rupture into smaller fragments. But hitting from different angles wasn't doing them any justice.

The waves of darkness cowarded them in at once, and they were swallowed up by its wrath. Danielle was pulled off of her feet violently and was thrown into the air. She skidded and tumbled along the ground, uncontrolled. Gwendy and Tyla fell off of her. The wind sounded its mighty roar, making everything that surrounded it shake in fear. Gwendy's heartbeat pounded loudly against her ears, echoing, alongside with fading pleas for help as her body dragged across the surface of the earth.

The world rushed by in a blur and Juliet knew that the pain was coming. From where she was in the air, the world blurred by around her, in only shades of grey and black. Then impact. She hit the ground hard and felt her bones move in a way they shouldn't have, jangled. Without looking she knew there was blood seeping from underneath of her pale freckled skin.

Everything was black. Cynthia and Adeline found themselves falling into the darkness. Everything was a blur, a dark blur that swirled out of existence. It surrounded everything. It ate up everything in its path and did not give them any mercy as it threw them to the ground. Suspended in the air for only a second, Cynthia closed her eyes and surrendered herself into the ghastly sky above.

The oxygen lowered until there was barely left at all. Everything dissolved like it was never there at all; like the universe hadn't even begun. In the darkness they could not see, hear, think, or breath. The blackness formed from the primeval hatred of Vividless, and the collective despair of all those it had taken before. Vividless showed no mercy. The darkness closed in on the group and bleed into their shadows which were smashed into the surface.

Flakes of ash and debris fell gently against Cynthia's cheeks, clinging to her eyelashes and hair. She grunted and tried to move but her body refused. Her head turned over to the side, and she saw a glimpse of Adeline laying in the ground beside her. Adeline rested on the ground, her face closed in a grimace, and her skin was covered in blood. Skid marks from her body dented the ground.
