"I think we're good now..." said Cynthia breathing heavily. She looked back into the distance. Her and Gwendy had ran away as fast as they could. There were no signs of anymore smoke or fire. The city's air was more fresh than it was earlier.

Gwendy looked over at Cynthia from the corner of her eye. Cynthia's icy blue eyes were emotionless, and full of frustration. She had never seen Cynthia so quiet and contempt before.

Gwendy thought to herself. Was what Adeline said true? Did Cynthia really kill another host to obtain her ice powers? She looked down at her feet, and watched as they moved across the glossy tiles of the city's path. Would Cynthia try to kill me for my power as well?

"You okay?" asked Cynthia. Gwendy's train of thought was interrupted. She looked over at Cynthia.

"Hm? Yes I'm fine!" said Gwendy in a forcefully bubbly tone. Gwendy was usually very talkative, but had a lot on her mind at the moment. She wasn't sure how she felt about Cynthia at the moment or what they were going to do about the green host.

"Do you think that Adeline will come after us?" asked Gwendy. Cynthia continued to walk beside her, keeping her line of sight straight. Her eyes were frozen onto the path in front of them, they were in between large buildings.

"No," said Cynthia. "She wouldn't do that... arguing with her was pointless, she obviously thinks she's better than us." Cynthia paused. "Well, at least everyone but me. Not trying to sound rude." Gwendy took slight offense to this comment, but knew it was true since Cynthia and Adeline we're both evenly matched. Both had two powers.

"When two people argue it's pointless because their retort is based more on their own emotions than the quality or intention of anyone else's response... and so the best thing I can say back is that context is everything and you need to abandon these black and white opinions. There are many people that build their persona on such dichotomies, on such hard 'truths,' yet the persona is false and it needs to crumble to let the soul take over."

Gwendy stared blankly at her. She was too dumb to understand what Cynthia had said but pretended to know what Cynthia was trying to imply. Gwendy nodded with half a smile and continued to walk.

"Hey Cynthia..." Gwendy stopped walking. Cynthia stopped walking and turned back to face Gwendy. Gwendy's emerald green eyes glistened in the sun and her golden blonde curls whipped in the wind. Cynthia's long red ponytail was trailing in the breeze, it looked like a long lions mane.

"Do you want to get a plane?" asked Gwendy. Cynthia raised an eyebrow. "I have enough money... and I don't want to walk all the way back to the docks." She sighed. "I've had enough cruising for awhile."

"Sure." said Cynthia. "There should be an airport nearby... I'll check Danielle's map."

Gwendy didn't want to go back on the cruise to New Zealand. The cruise would only remind her more of Corbin, and more of what Cynthia had done to his body. Adeline had shot him and Cynthia had drained all of the blood from Corbins body; the horrific image still remained in Gwendy's head. The handsome boy with dark skin and feathery black hair, drenched in blood, with lifeless eyes. His body was probably disintegrated by now. Nobody would ever know what happened to him, the only ones who witnessed his death was Cynthia, Adeline and herself.

Cynthia and Gwendy headed over to the closest airport they could find. The Chicago Midway International Airport was the closest airport to them.

The airport was a cocoon of steel, the walls were curved and wrapping around to create the inner space. The windows let in so much light, that in the daytime the area was as bright as any other summer day. Gwendy and Cynthia looked in awe when thousands of people scattered the area. People flowed from the check-in desks to the cafe's and through the gates, each one of them heading for a destination of their own making.
