Disrupting Disasters

Seongwu, once again, woke up by the sound of an explosion. Being his fourth time, he was more than sure that the same event had been happening over and over again. As he walked toward outside the hall, he racked his memory for the next thing that would happen. As he passed through the front door, he finally remembered what had happened that would soon unfold right in front of his eyes.

"If memory serves me right, then..." Seongwu began to stealthily approach Hongbin and Mr. Cha Seungwon, who were both near each other. But he was a second too late.

"X-Con: Peek-a-Boo!" He heard Velvety Red from the other side.

"Watch out!"

Seongwu managed to jump at Mr. Cha and Hongbin, causing the fireballs from Velvety Red's X-Con to miss both persons. Meanwhile, he recalled that two other individuals would also get hit by the fireballs. Looking at their direction, he was surprised to see Minhyun lying on top of Minhyuk and Jaehyo.

"This is good. Something has changed. I managed to save everyone." Seongwu thought.

"X-Con: Blue Flame!" Troas launched a counter-attack.

Powder-like snow began falling on the area around Bulletproof Scouts, Two-Times, Velvety Red and their companions. Everything the snow touched- trees, grass or even lamppost- instantaneously burst into flames explosively and were burnt to a crisp. Jin was calm enough and raised his hand. With the help of Yeri's augmentation, Jin's force field acted like an umbrella, protecting all his allies from Troas' X-Con technique.

"This is not good. Events are still happening just like the last time." Seongwu internally talked to himself, "I already changed something. Wasn't that enough to break this cycle?"

Thankfully, Seongwu's worries were erased when Minhyuk, Jaehyo and Hongbin fired an attack separately. And even though Jinu, Song and Dahyun easily nullified their attack, Seongwu was happy that, finally, something that had not happened before happened. However, his celebration was short-lived when the Bulletproof Scouts countered.

"X-Con: Fire!" Bulletproof Scouts planned to settle things there and then.

Sungwoon raised a force field and brace himself for impact.

"Everyone, in here! Stay behind me." Sungwoon called out.

Troas, Mingyu, Yanan, Minhyuk, Jaehyo, Hongbin, and Mr. Cha scurried behind Sungwoon. On the other hand, Seongwu remained still.

"Here it goes again." Seongwu's thoughts became messed up, "They are gonna attack again and that gorgeous guy will die. Then, the cycle repeats. I don't want to experience that again."

Daniel noticed that Seongwu was immobile. Hurriedly, he ran toward Seongwu.

"Hey, what are you doing?! It is dangerous! Protect yourself!" Daniel screamed at Seongwu on top of his lungs.

Daniel's urgent, albeit still sweet-sounding in Seongwu's perspective, voice snapped Seongwu out of his mental breakdown but he reacted too slow. A ring of fire started to burst out with extraordinary speed from where Bulletproof Scouts and their allies were standing. Seongwu realized that history was gonna repeat itself again with the death of Daniel.

"STOP!" Seongwu yelled, his eyes tightly closed. He didn't want to hear those horrible voices in his head again.

Yet nothing happened. He was waiting for that familiar light and heat to pass by him but there was none. He opened his right eye slowly to see what happened but both of his eyes immediately widened at the spectacle in front of him. Everyone was frozen, literally. Bulletproof Scouts' ring of fire, Troas, Daniel, the invaders, even the birds and the trees, were all frozen.

"I don't know how this happened but I better make use of it." Seongwu decided.

Seongwu took this opportunity to save Daniel. He pulled Daniel, unfreezing him somehow, and dragged Daniel back to his group. Seongwu exhaled a sigh of relief when he realized that they were already in safe position. The two of them had been behind Sungwoon's protection when everything started moving again.

"What happened? Where are the two people there?" Suga was baffled, along with everyone else from both sides.

"We are here!" Seongwu popped out from behind everyone, waving at the enemies with his tongue sticking out as a form of insult.

"How did that happen?" Mark remarked.

With the enemies distracted, Mingyu, Jaehyo, Minhyuk and Hongbin wasted no time and individually intiated an attack. Song, Yeri, Joy and Tzuyu crashed to the ground in slumber. Jaehyo's shadow blast took out Chaeyoung and Sana. Minhyuk's electrokinesis jolted Mark, Seulgi and Wendy. Jeongyeon, Momo and Nayeon was hit by Hongbin's water balls. Jin was only able to shield his troop mates after the loss of Augmentation and fatigue from defending against Troas' X-Con technique. Only the Bulletproof Scouts, Two-Times' Jihyo, Mina and Dahyun, Velvety Red's Irene and Wheener's Jinu remained. Startled by the fall of their comrades, Jinu released a huge blast of icy mist but Jinyoung quickly blew it away using an air blast of his own. When then mist was gone. No one was standing where the enemies were.

"Good thing that was finally over." Sungwoon's knees gave up and he fell on the ground.
