Strange Sensation: Part 1

When the Chosen Squad teleported inside Carat, the SVT members were greatly surprised. They did not expect them to be back this early.

"Jisung-hyung, why are back so early? Anything wrong?" S.Coups asked out of shock.

"No. We're done with our mission. Five-Sided Polygon allowed us to leave. Thus, we returned here." Jisung explained the situation.

"How about you guys? Why are you all gathered?" Sungwoon returned the question.

"We just thought of having a small meeting about stuff. Nothing major, hyung." Jeonghan smiled as he answered.

"Really? Are you sure?" Jaehwan squinted his eyes toward SVT a little.

"Yes, Jaehwan-hyung, we are totally fine." Hoshi emphasized with a little bit of hand gestures.

"Well. If you say so." Jaehwan shrugged off.

"Would you like some lunch? It's already past one after all." Mingyu offered.

"Well, anything ready to eat? We would like to rest as soon as possible." Seongwu said, "By the way, where is Daniel?"

"Good thing we have already prepared tuna sandwiches and orange juice. As for Daniel, he is already sleeping upstairs." Woozi stated.

The Chosen Squad quickly ate the sandwiches and drank the juice. When they were done, the excused themselves from SVT to head back to their rooms. But before leaving, Jisung informed SVT about something.

"By the way, guys, we need to have a quick emergency meeting later after dinner about something. It is really concerning." Jisung informed SVT.

The whole afternoon passed by without any major happenings. SVT quietly and systematically preparing what to have for dinner while the Chosen Squad were snoozing away in their respective rooms. After all, using one's powers was highly draining.

The Chosen Squad started to wake up just after 5 in the afternoon, except for Daniel who woke up way earlier, considering the fact that he slept first. Each of them was greeted cheerfully by SVT members as they enter the living area, same is true in Jaehwan's case.

"Good afternoon, hyung!" It was Vernon and Dino who greeted him in full smiles.

"Something is really wrong. I can feel it." Jaehwan internally thought while bowing slightly to Vernon and Dino, "What is it? I can distinguish the feeling but I can't pinpoint why they are feeling it. I think I'll need help from Sungwoon-hyung."

"Sungwoon-hyung? Can I talk to you for a bit?" Jaehwan approached the person he needed.

"What is it, Jaehwan?" Sungwoon voiced a tone of concern.

"Can you read the SVT members' minds? I can feel this weird vibe coming from them that something is wrong." Jaehwan admitted to Sungwoon, "But please, do not tell the others yet. I don't wanna cause any trouble."

"Sure. Sure. After all, your power is a far more effective way of sensing the people around than mine." Sungwoon accepted the request.

He first sneakily activated his powers and acted as if he was not using it at all. He first read S.Coups. Jeonghan and Joshua who were all huddled in the kitchen counter. Next, he pried the minds of Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino who were in dining table peeling potatoes. Afterward, he turned his powers on Mingyu, DK and The8 near the gas range. Lastly, he scanned the thoughts of Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo and Woozi. He was extra careful on reading the minds of the sub-unit leaders, most especially S.Coups but found nothing significant expect for the erratic state of all the minds of SVT. He might not have found anything conclusive, but the circumstances were substantial enough for him to believe that Jaehwan's Empathy might have picked up something concerning.

After dinner, the Chosen Squad and SVT gathered on the living area to discuss something important, as described by Jisung.

"What is this meeting all about, hyung?" S.Coups told Jisung.

"This is about something very concerning that we encountered during our mission to reclaim Kyuub." Sungwoon started the topic to be discussed.

"What about it?" Daniel nervously said.

"Geefreend is now under Hitbig's control." Sungwoon dropped the bombshell.
