Chapter 11: New faces

~Meilin's POV~

We walked into the school with our Greencloaks and Redcloaks on. Melissa made a new headdress last night and was wearing it. I had my AirPods in so I didn't hear anything. Everyone was shouting at us.

"You can't wear those cloaks to school!" One student yelled.

"Yeah! Teacher! Send them to the principal!" Chole said. 

"So? This is who we are! Respect it!" Abeke yelled. I saw somebody throw a can at me. I caught it and threw it back. We walked up the stairs and into the classroom. 

"Welcome back class. Mrs. Nilo, Mrs. Teng, Melissa, Rollan, Mr. Trunswick, and Mr. Eura you may not wear those cloaks to school." Mrs. Bustier said. We walked to our desks and Chole tried to trip me again. 

I fell and landed on the ground. Melissa helped me up. I sat down and listened to the teacher. I felt something hit the back of my head and I turned to see Lila. She stuck her tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes and continued to write. I started drifting off from work. I drew. I drew the Evertree, Greencloaks, Redcloaks, and Arctica. I did this for a while.

"Class, we have new students." Mrs. Bustier said. I looked up to see no other than Takoda and Xanthe. They saw me. 

"Meilin? Conor?" Takoda asked. I stood up and ran to both of them. I hugged both of them

"You three know each other?" Mrs. Bustier asked.

"Yeah! We knew each other since we were kids." I beamed.

"Wait. Wh-" Takoda started to say and I jabbed my elbow into his ribs.

"Ow! Yeah, we know each other." Takoda said. Chole glared at Xanthe.

"Ew! Is your friend dead? She's very pale." Chole said and Lila laughed. Essix glared at her. Lily was summoned from passive state in her normal dragon form. Lily roared. Chole gulped.

"Good girl, Lil," Melissa said and Lily returned to dormant state. 

"You have a dragon??? Impossible! Utterly impossible! That dragon should follow me!" Chole yelled and flipped her hair. 

"Nothing is impossible," Melissa said. 

"Humph!" Chole flipped her hair and Me, Takoda, and Xanthe walked to our seats and sat down. I worked for a little bit when the bell rang. I got up and walked to the lockers and heard a shout. I saw Chole kicking Xanthe down. Everyone crowded the fighting girls. 

Xanthe was in a chokehold by Chole. I saw Xanthe grab her arm and flipped and Chole broke her arm. Xanthe kicked Chole down and she fell to the ground. Xanthe was holding her arm and walked away. I saw tears running down her eyes. Takoda was following right behind her. Melissa ran after the girl.

~Xanthe's POV~

I ran out of the school and ran into an old man. 

"I'm so sorry sir," I said in Euran on accident.

"It's ok young lady." The old man said and I looked at him in shock.   

"You know Euran?" I asked and he nodded. 

"Your arm is broken. Come with me." The old man said and I followed him. I followed him and he led me to a house. He opened the door and we entered. 

The old man had me sit down on a mat and I showed him my arm.  The man touched it and I winched in pain. The man continued to touch it and bent my arm. I felt no pain at all.
