We were swaying to the music while we were driving through LA at 11 pm enjoying the new city we were gonna spend our time in.

"This is crazy Julia, i honestly never thought we were gonna end HERE." Violette screamed with a voice filled with happiness.

"I mean there's so many famous people, and the parties, the streets, the bars. OMG the beach, i forgot. We have to go there some time.". She was rambling from being so tired, but i agreed. We would go there whenever we could, but right now we both needed a bed to sleep in and perhaps a toilet.

I was sure i looked like shit right now, but i didn't give a shit. This is was what we have wanted for years and finally it's happening.

"you remember the number, Violette? should maybe call them and make sure they're ready.". We weren't moving into the apartment we bought yet, that was next week, so good thing Violette had some friends sweet enough to rent out a couple of matrasses and a toilet for the week.

"you're right, still a genius at 11 pm huh. That's why we're still alive." Violette said while smiling, it made me smile and look at her to make sure she was okay. She had calmed down before calling them and telling them we were about ten minutes from their places. Then things went quick and we were parked in a parking garage close to the place we were staying. I got Shaely and my luggage before locking the car.

"Violette?Julia?"I turned to the voice saying my name then Violette running towards it with her luggage in her hands.

"OMG, I'v missed you so much Tara". A small figure was melting into Violette's hug and figured she was the one to help us out.

"Hey!Julia right? I'm Tara.".". She had big brown eyes, max. 5 feet tall and dressed in bikershorts and an orange hoodie with "No Name" written all over it. Violette only told me that she was a friend from when she lived in Maryland and last time, they saw each other was 4 years ago.

"Hey Tara. Nice to finally meet you. And thank you so much for letting us stay this week." I tried to smile but my body was too weak to even show how grateful I was. My face was dirty and sweaty while my eyes probably looked like i was sleep deprived.

I think she understood what i was trying to do though cause she smiled back and stood there until she noticed Shaely.

"Aaaw, this is the Collie you were talking about Violette? I love this. I mean I'm excited for you to stay here and finally meet Julia. How was the drive?". She stood up again after saying hi to Shaely then guiding us to a door that lead up to the apartment. Luckily, Violette answered all the questions that came out of Taras mouth. I liked this girl, but right now I needed sleep more than small talk. I nodded tried to be polite and was joking around with them until we reached the front door.

Tara didn't bring keys but knocked, and the door opened revealing a girl, looked like she was 19 or younger. She had blue hair and a surprisingly big smile that warmed my heart immediately. I smiled at her and went inside hoping I wouldn't do anything embarrassing, cause my whole entire body felt like jelly and needed rest even though I only drove to LA, but still. she reached her hand out to mine to take my luggage and after that I was embraced in a side hug from Violette, who noticed how bad I had it.

"Hi, I'm Kat. So nice to finally meet both of you and thank you for bringing Kiwi a friend.". I smiled at her and looked down at her dog, looking like a small Cotton de Tulear.

"no problem, I think that's what Shaely needs, more than ever. She's been asleep most of the drive.".

"Here, let me show you guys around ma crib." Kat leaded us away from the front door and showed us the room we were staying in.

"wait, this is your apartment Kat? I thought you said I was staying at your place." Violette looked confused at Tara, but I didn't care where, as long as there's a bed and toilet and maybe a fridge I'll be good.

"Weeeell,I might've not told you that my parents didn't allow me, but Katrina is a wonderful roommate and trust me she has more room than me sooo.".

"Thank you guys, both. This is all I need." I said and walked over to the made mattresses and sat down while looking up in the ceiling.

Violette wasn't too happy about Tara not telling her about staying at a strangers place, but what was she gonna do about it.

"Come on girl, are not you tired, cause I am and grateful. I think I might just fall asleep right now." I yawned and looked at the girls then Violette. Violette was smiling and talking to Tara and Kat, but I only heard

"She has been driving more than I have so bear with her, she need to rest.".

"I heard that." But before I could say more, my shoes were of and Violette was taking of my leather jacket and my jeans that was dirty from car pollution and something else I couldn't recognize. My head was heavy now and my eyes were only half open, even if i tried i wouldn't succeed. I was a gone in a few minutes, hopefully i would get to know Tara and Katrina in the morning. While i was laying down on the made mattress my mind wondered of and my unconsciousness took over, the darkness also took the opportunity and filled my mind with thoughts.

"Where are you taking me!?" I yelled at the lady while tears were forming in my tired eyes and getting heavy. "Julia, I'm here to help you. You have to understand we're all here to..". "Fuck you. Where's my parents, huh?!". My heart was beating too fast and my eyes were constantly flickering between the lady and some younger men behind her. I knew what happened, but I needed them to say it. I calmed down before I yanked my hands away from them and walked back until my back hit the wall. I slowly slid down the cold wall and looked down between my knees where I landed my forehead so I could hide my tears. "Julia, it's going to be okay. Your parents aren't coming back, but you are still here and so are your brothers.". I inhaled sharply until I met her eyes. She was close now, giving me all the attention. "Now I need to know where your brothers are, cause they need to know as well. How old are you again, Julia?". "12". "Okay, remember everything is gonna be alright. Are your brothers in preschool?". "Yeah.". I gave her what she wanted now, but only because no one else was going to help me like her. I sucked up my tears and read the sign behind her. Jiamini Orphanage, boys and girls.
