Julia's POV

They must have heard the gunshots by the Subway and all the screams from the deadly creatures. I looked over to Colby as I slowed down and ended up pulling to the side and turning of the engine. I was grateful for not bringing Shaely or Kiwi, but that meant we needed to get out of this situation as soon as possible. I knew now that Violette was in downtown LA and that she wasn't alone. I nodded at Colby to drop his gun, and he did so in a slowly motion. The men who drove the black van wore all black masks to almost cover their entire face, and then they all had guns in their hands while hanging out of the window. I saved my energy for later even though I really wanted to fight against them putting us in handcuffs and throwing us in the van. Colby's gun was still in the car and the car was left on the side of the road with the keys in it. That meant they didn't need any of our stuff, but us. Colby noticed too and fought against them by slamming his elbow in their gut and slamming his head into their own. "Stop! It won't help!". I yelled as I looked at him as I could see his temper slow down and his adrenaline rush decrease while now laying on the concrete with someone straddled around him. "Get up, Leo! We don't have time for this, pretty is right. Smart girl.". Who seemed like the leader talked to the guy straddling Colby on the concrete called Leo and ended up looking at me as he ended his sentence with a little smirk. It made me nauseous the way he looked me up and down like some sort of whole meal while he just slammed Colby into the back of the van next to me, and then closed the doors. The room me and Colby were in was dark and we could only hear each other even though we knew it was bright daylight outside. Soon we stopped and the doors opened again, and I could finally see Colby. He looked sterned and angry, but maybe that was just a part of his big bad façade, didn't blame him. His wound wasn't getting any better and now he also had bruises on his face. I felt the handcuffs scrape my skin on my wrist but I looked better than Colby right now, and I only wanted to be able to help him, but right now we both knew we had to keep up the hard façade he already was good at. "Benjamin, take the girl to the others and get some boys for the blue-haired fuck." The guy with the purple bandana said, who I was guessing was the leader. A new guy with a short afro went inside the van and grabbed me by the arm and yanked me outside while keeping his hands around my arm. "Don't fucking touch her!" I saw Colby trying to get out of three other men's grip while looking straight towards me. His eyes were filled with something I hadn't seen before now. An angry look was plastered on his face while fighting to get out of their grip, but before I could say anything the guy named Benjamin ran away with me and away from Colby. The tall buildings filled my view and the signs of the downtown of Los Angeles took me by surprise. It was all like that night me and Violette drove through the city at night but this time, the only cars were black vans and SUVs like the one Colby and I had been put in. There weren't any people like there should be and it seemed like a ghost town at this point. The guy who was ordered to take me seemed untouched by what he had seen and what he was doing and kept going until I spoke. "Where are you taking me?". He kept quiet with his black bandana over his mouth and nose before using is deep voice against me. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Just shut the fuck up and do as they say.". I wasn't trusting him and what he said, and I didn't understand where Colby was being taking at. "What about my friend?!". "I said, shut the fuck up. Do you understand?". I looked into his almost black eyes and looked over his dark features before answering. "No, I don't. Do you think you could explain it to me?". I didn't think that was a good idea, but if he wouldn't hurt me then what could he possibly do. "That attitude will only cause you problems, so shut up for your own sake.". He just kept his hands around my arm and yanked me through the city, where people like him and the others just stood around with guns in their hands and most of them masked. They all looked like one big gang with black masks and a few in purple bandanas. I felt the hard concrete against my sore feet and the dirty air hitting my cold skin. "What is it you do?!" I asked on last time before I ended up in someone else's grip. "We're cleaning up the mess, pretty. Now, don't talk and do as they say.". he then turned at our left and shoved down a staircase where I hit a hard metal door. Before I could fight against him, I was shoved inside and fell onto the floor in a dark room with only a few light sources. It smelled like a basement and people I didn't know was starring directly at me with some scared ass looks. I noticed the frightened people were sitting in the corner while a few guards dressed in tank tops and matching pants with black bandanas and guns were by a doorway leading further back in the building. I then noticed it only was women and girls in the corner with their arms all over each other and scary eyes darting between me and one of the guards. This was sketchy and I didn't like the way this was set up. Where did they get all those guns? Why did they look at me like that? And why only women?
