"What's with the long face?" Pia asked as she entered the room.
"Let me guess, it's Re again" sabat ni Alexa sa likod nya.
"She's not answering my texts and calls"
"Sabi mo may midterm examination sila so why are expecting na makakapapunta siya ngayon" patuloy ni Kyna.
"I'm not expecting okay? And her exam must be done already so there's no reason na hindi sya makapagreply sakin"
"Aren't you a little too clingy?" Alexa asked.
"I'm not!" tanggi ko. "I'm just--
"Yeah yeah whatever" pagpuputol nito sa sasabihin ko. She received a glare from me.
"Stop stressing yourself, magsisimula na yung pageant. You're the representative of freshmen, Shan. Mag ready ka na dahil malapit nang magstart"
Tonight we are celebrating the foundation day of our school. Yearly ay may nagaganap na search for Ms. and Mr. West University and I was chosen to represent the first year.
"You know what, Shan? I can't helped but wonder how did you fall in love with her?" it's Alexa again.
"Anong gusto mong palabasin?"
"Relax okay? Hindi naman ako against sa kanya para sayo, baka nga mas close pa kami kesa sa inyo" at nagawa nya pa akong ikutan ng mata.
As if naman na totoo yun. She's talking about Re at malabong mangyari ang sinabi nya. Re is really an elusive person.
"Maybe she's studying or something" pampapagaan loob sakin ni Kyna.
May pumasok na organizer ng event at pinaalam na magsisimula na ang program. I tried not to think about Re. Alam niya kung anong meron ngayong gabi because I invited her to come, unluckily ngayong araw din ang simula ng kanilang midterm exam. Two days yun kaya malabong makarating sya, after all she's not the type na uunahin ang ibang bagay kaysa sa kanyang pag-aaral. I won't deny that I'm still hoping na she will come. But knowing her, it's impossible.
I lazily looked around, everyone looks happy and enjoying their selves tonight, while here I am, in the corner sulking.
"Don't ruin the night with that face, Shan" saway sakin ni Alexa.
"Alexa's right. You won the pageant but you don't look happy at all" segunda ni Pia.
"I'm happy, I'm just not in the mood"
"And who is the reason?" sarkastikong tanong ni Alexa.
She's really annoying sometimes. Instead of answering I just rolled my eyes on her.
"Sana man lang may pinagbigyan kang makasayaw. Every guy in this room are dying to dance with you" wika ni Kyna.
"Don't think of Re dahil kahit nandito yun hindi ka nya isasayaw" pang-aasar ni Alexa.
And now they are laughing, seriously? Wala namang nakakatawa sa sinabi nya. Hindi ko na sila pinansin at hinayaan ko na lang na lumipas ang oras, hindi naman ako makauwi dahil nakisabay lang ako kay Alexa kanina. I don't have a choice but to wait for her. Minutes, hours passed and finally naisipan na nilang umuwi.
I relaxed myself sa loob ng sasakyan ni Alexa pero agad din iyong sinira niya.
"Hindi naman halata na gustong-gusto mo nang umuwi?"
