My attention was wavering after I realised that Cameron was here, drifting in and out of the conversations. My friends had caught on to it unsurprisingly, raising their eyebrows. Olivia was the first one who decided to call me out. "What's up, Heather?"

There wasn't really anything up, I was just surprised by the fact that Cameron was here as well. By the looks of it, he hadn't even spotted us, indulged in assessing the menu in front of him. He was too, coincidentally in his uniform, the indication that he'd came here just after school.

Without thinking, I stood up from our table and walked to Cameron's, the occupier of the table finally looking up in surprise, similar to the one that was on his expression this morning. His brows were raised and a smile lit on his lips. "Oh, hi."

I pulled a chair out and sat right opposite of him, like it was the most natural thing to do. I smiled, leaning my cheek against my palm. "This is the second time we are seeing each other by coincidence. Should I be worried that it's not?"

Cameron's eyes grew wide and he sputtered shaking his head vigorously. "No! I didn't even know you were going to come here."

I laughed, leaning forward amusedly. "I was joking. I'm glad you're here. Speaking of which, if you are... The food here must be good then." Cameron raised his brow inquisitively. "Olivia picked right, I guess." Cameron's face grew more curious and I realised that he had no idea what I was talking about.

I pointed at our table, where my friends sat, mercilessly and shamelessly staring at us. Olivia's brows were raised curiously and I could feel her trying to will me into somehow telepathically telling her what was going on. Sophia was staring too, her eyes locked on Cameron's table as she stared at it in surprise.

By far the most outstanding reaction was definitely Charlie. He sat on his chair, and like Olivia and Sophie, he was staring too, his eyes locked on ours his hands supporting up his head. I didn't know what it meant but he wiggled his eyebrows in a weirdly flexible and suggestive manner - in which suggestive about what, I did not know.

"Those are my friends that go to your school." I said, but Cameron most likely already knew that, probably from recognising their faces or perhaps it was the fact that they were dressed head to toe in their uniform that he wore as well.

Come to think of it, I've never seen him out of casual clothes before. His hair was tousled, like usual, and his glasses laid on the bridge of his nose. I didn't know why, but something felt different. Maybe it was the lighting or the fact that he was dressed in a white button up shirt with a grey jacket, similar to my friend's, over the blue tie that was tucked underneath, but it made him look... Different.

I didn't know how to explain it, but something felt dissimilar. It was so foreign that I barely understood it and decided that I was better off just ignoring it and going on with my day. Cameron nodded at my explaination to which my friends were the ones who were staring at us.

I turned away from them, and at the same time, an idea sparked in my head.

"Hey Cameron, would you like to join us?" I asked, waving my hand at my friends who seemed know exactly what I was saying to Cameron and looked as if they were even more interested. Charlie even went as far as standing and reaching over at an empty table for a chair and tucking it right next to mine on their table.

Cameron seemed to ponder it over a few moments and at that moment I made the revelation that I never even asked if he was expecting someone. I just sat down and intruded his space. Maybe he was meeting with someone important.

"Sorry, I forgot to ask. Are you expecting someone?" I asked.

At that, Cameron shook his head, denying it. "No, I was just hungry and I wanted to eat something." He said sheepishly, reaching to rub at the nape of his neck.
