My tutor, Ms Apple, was one of the kindest and nicest tutors I've ever had. I mean, I liked my other tutors too, but she was my favourite. She was sweet, and she had a lot of faith in me. She always somehow lit my fire of motivation whenever it was dimming with just a few of her wise words.
I scribbled an answer on the paper, twisting my lips when I looked at her for a reaction. I wanted to see if I was right. She kept up a poker face, her dyed red hair that fell in wisps out of her ponytail tickled her face, however not bothersome to her. Her eyes drifted over the words I've written, her face screwing in thought.
I expected her to say no by the way her expression was but I'd guessed wrong.
She nodded, a serious expression on her face before she brought her eyes to my nervous ones. "Very good. Your answer is very compact and contains all that needs to be there. Well done." Then, like she couldn't hold onto it anymore, she smiled widely.
I couldn't resist and as a smile broke out of my face as well, I pumped my fist in the air. Ms Apple laughed and began to pack up her stuff after glancing at the clock for a second "Well I have to go," she said standing up from her chair and zipping up her bag on the desk before hitching it into her shoulder. "You did really well today."
"It's all because of you, Ms Apple." I said, smiling.
She rolled her eyes and laughed. "Well if you didn't cooperate then you wouldn't be getting these good of answers. I'll be going now. See you soon, Heather." She said, walking out of the dining room we'd studied in. I followed after her holding the front door open for her, the breeze from the outside blowing in.
"Bye!" I said as she slipped into her car. I only closed the door when she drove away.
I exhaled a sigh of relief and tiredness and trudged back to the dining room to collect all the papers and pencils discarded and used by me during class. I was glad that I hadn't gotten any homework because I had plans with a certain dog and I was excited for it, despite being exhausted from school.
I was sure her energy would spark mine up and the thought of going outside and experiencing the breeze again, like I'd done earlier by the door, first-hand really had me going. I grasped my papers, my notebooks, and my pencil case and ambled upstairs into my bedroom, scattering them all over my work desk.
When I was arranging them so that they would look a lot better, the sound of paws hitting the ground almost made me smile. I tucked my pencilcase in it's respectable place on my desk and Brown barked just as I moved the papers to the side.
I turned to her and raised my brow which she'd replied by nudging the leash discarded on the ground with her small snout towards me. I smiled, I was ready to go. After the last incident, I made sure to bring my phone, slipping it into my pocket as I picked up the leash from the ground and hooking it onto Brown's collar.
I made sure to look up at the sky when I was outside, locking the door and tucking the keys into my pocket. I felt a hint of déjà vu as Brown hopped on the ground, her way of asking me to hurry up. The sky was a bright blue colour, with no signs of grey clouds, in it's place were a few fluffy white clouds floating.
As she led me to the park, her little body moving with excitement, my thought drifted to the possibility of seeing a certain boy with a certain fluffy white Pomeranian. It was around the time he said he usually went out on a walk on and I couldn't suppress the fact that I hoped he was there too.
Brown barked suddenly, catching me off guard and pulling me out of my thoughts. She'd stopped moving, making me halt in my footsteps and I followed her gaze. Near the entrance of the park was Cameron himself. He held a dark blue leash in his hand, the long fabric connected all the way to Snow.
He didn't look sick, that was good, and seemed to be in his own world, walking with a carefree style, dressed in a white t-shirt and a pair of blue knee length pants. His glasses laid on his face and from afar, I could tell that he was enjoying himself, walking with his dog.
I brought my eyes back to my dog who looked at me with her head cocked to the side. To me, she looked like she was scheming something. I knew she was a smart and intelligent dog, but I wasn't smart enough to anticipate her next actions.
She tugged on her leash and began walking again, admittedly, by then I was already distracted. I was thinking of ways which I could walk up to Cameron and say hi. My mind delved into a scenario where he was just walking and minding his own business when I surprised him from behind.
When the park entrance came into view, I saw a few people loitering around, but none of which were Cameron. I felt a little bit of disappointment. I wasn't quick enough to catch him and now I wasn't sure where he'd headed.
I told myself that there were other opportunities as Brown ventured on a path that we'd never really went to. Most of the time we would just roam at the center of the park, where the gazebo was and where the entrance was visible.
Now she was walking on the path and bringing me deeper into the park. A thought sparked me and reminded me that Cameron was here the first time we'd met before he had to spring all the way to the entrance to only make a detour to the gazebo.
I doubted the fact that he may have been there. However, when Brown had nudged my leg and barked at a figure far away by a bush filled with pink roses only had I realised that he was, indeed, there. He was holding Snow up and showing her the flowers and which the latter was staring at them with an adorable fascination.
The path we were on was sandwiched between bushes filled with colourful flowers of all kinds. In between some of the bushes there would be some marble made benches and desks on cement platforms. This park was definitely a pretty place.
I'd been here only a few times, never really spending too long due to the fact that it was deeper in and I usually walked alone with Brown. I could see why Cameron supposedly went in here all the time; it was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view and sweet smells of nature coming from the leaves and flowers that surrounded the theme and basically everything in the park.
I watched as Cameron gently let Snow on the ground, and turned the other direction to walk further into the park. With my lips pressed together excitedly, I made eye contact with Brown and she met my eyes as if she knew what I had been thinking.
I was going to surprise him like I was thinking about before.
