Danica was driving towards the given address. As she drove to the outskirts of the city she couldn't help but wonder as to what Mr Brown had in the package that it was such a confidential thing for him. He had made her promise that she wouldn't tell a single soul about this.
She always delivered the packages to places that were really far from the city. The first time he had given her the task, she was more than freaked out. She initially declined to do what he asked for but after he convinced that it was nothing more than business only then did she accept.
She stopped the car when the GPS indicated that she reached her location. She looked around to double-check if the address that was given to her was accurate. There was nothing but a secluded road around and a building that kind of looked like a warehouse at the far end of the road.
The deserted road was giving her creepy feeling and she became unsure that if she had the correct address. She turned to take her phone and call Mr Brown when she heard a knock from behind her. She whipped her head to look behind her and shrieked loudly,
"Ahhhhhh...."
A man stood outside her car peeking at her through the window. He looked very tall and huge who seemed to have bent to her eye-level. He had a beard and an impatient look plastered on his face.
Her heart raced and she began to panic.
The man motioned her to roll down the window. She was unsure at first and hesitated but as the look on man's face grew more restless, she rolled down the window.
"Parcel from William?" He asked her gruffly with a scrutinizing gaze.
Danny calmed her heart and nodded at the impatient looking man.
She got out of the car and handed him the package with shaky hands. The man took it from her hands and eyed her suspiciously with a piercing look. After a minute or two, he mumbled a 'thank you' in a hard tone and walked away.
Danny breathed out in relief and closed her eyes for a second after which she sat in her car drove back to work.
A little while after she was back in the office, William called her and asked if the job was completed.
"Yes. But the man looked a little terrifying." She replied honestly with a small sigh.
He gave out a loud hearty laugh and just shook his head.
"Gary can make an impression like that. But he's an old friend." He patted her on the back.
She gave a little chuckle and nodded at him. The rest of the day was quite uneventful. It was the end of the day and Danny sighed in relief as she pulled through another day.
While she drove back home from work she decided to halt at the grocery store to get a few things. She deviated her direction from the house and drove towards the grocery store. Once she reached, she struggled to park the car. Parking was always something Danny was bad at. Danny tried to park correctly in the spot but suddenly something hit her car. Or she did.
"Idiot! Can't you see where you're going?" She yelled at them without really seeing what happened. She gasped when she heard a groan of pain.
What the-
Danny's eyes widened in conflict and she hurriedly got out of the car and reached behind it to see a man on the ground as he clutched his leg.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" She kneeled down in front of the man and he lifted his head to look at her.
Danny's words stopped in her mouth as she stared at the most handsome man she had ever laid her eyes on. His face was dimly lit from the street light in a relatively dark parking lot.
