"James! Did you eat the cake that I saved in the fridge?" Paul accused angrily.
James just shrugged, "It was not me, man. I have my own lunch, okay?"
"Then who the fuck ate my precious cake? I even labelled it with my name in CAPITAL LETTERS!" He bellowed angrily.
"Hey man, chill!" James raised his arms in surrender, "I guess it was Sarge, man." He confessed with a light chuckle.
Paul glared at James and then at Damien's office where he sat. A sound erupted from his stomach and he clutched it tightly as he let out a huff, "I'm gonna kill him" He let out irritated, "But I'm so hungry I'll die!" He whined and banged his head on the table.
"Don't die. Here, eat half of my sandwich." James said as he offered it to Paul who snatched it, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
"James! Man, I love you!" He declared and opened the wrapper. Just as he was about to take a bite into his sandwich, Damien banged on his table as he said impatiently, "No time to eat. Let's go. We got a new one."
Paul's eyes almost filled with tears as he stared at the sandwich longingly, "But I was just going to eat." He said in a low voice, disappointed.
Damien snatched it out of his hand and slapped his arm. "Later. Hurry now!" He ordered before he dashed outside to his car. Paul glared at his retreating figure as he put the sandwich away grudgingly. "Not only he ate my cake, now he's ordering me around, not letting me eat. I'm gonna end him."
He stomped out the door and heard James yell, "All the best, honey!" From behind him.
They both started towards the crime scene, all the while Paul warned Damien not to touch his food again. But Damien completely zoned him out as he wondered what headache was he going to get now.
After a 20 minute drive, they reached the crime scene.
"Who is it this time?" Paul questioned.
"No idea. But by the looks of it, it seems to be a big deal." He said as he noted the surroundings which were filled with police cars and the media people. Damien parked the car and they made their way inside. Once they entered the house, they saw the living area in a mess like someone had partied all night. It was filled with alcohol bottles scattered everywhere and white powdered stuff and injections everywhere around the room.
"Definitely a drug dealer!" Paul commented and Damien agreed silently as he wore his gloves.
They walked towards the dead body that was on the largest sofa with the forensic doctor who was bent down as he tried to examine the body. He looked very familiar.
"Wait, is that-?" Paul spoke up from behind him.
The forensic doctor, Dr Brookes turned towards the both of them, "Yep, that's Kalen Romano. One of the powerful drug dealers in the town."
"What the hell happened to him?" Damien looked down at the body. His skin was covered with reddish-violet rashes all over him. And there was a trail of blood from his eyes as if he had cried blood. It was a disgusting sight to look at.
"Is this some kind of deadly disease?" Paul let out disgusted, "It's not contagious, is it?" He said and covered his nose and backed away a little.
"No, not exactly. This is definitely a reaction to something. We still don't know the source what caused this. I'll get his samples tested right away and let you know what happened." Dr Brookes said and left.
Damien examined the body thoroughly with his eyes, "No wounds, no bullet marks. No signs of struggle." He said more to himself.
"Who found the body?" He asked once he got up and ordered the forensic to take the body for further examination.
