As they drove towards Damien's home, the car was eerily silent. Both of them hadn't uttered a word since they started from her motel. It felt rather weird for both of them.

The silence gave Danny time to think about what she had gotten herself into. She didn't know the man or his family and yet still agreed to stay with him. But mostly she agreed because he was not alone. She couldn't imagine staying alone with him. It was better for her to let the thought slide. She felt really ridiculous to have agreed to stay with someone she didn't know, yet again. She had done the same thing with her boss and to think where it landed her.

But something in Damien's words made her trust him even though he doesn't trust her a bit.

Danny was brought back from her thoughts when the car came to a halt. She looked in front of the car through the glass and her eyes went wide as saucers. She was dumbfounded at the house in front of her.

It was huge!

"Come on, let's go," Damien spoke as he got out of the car.

Danny was still surprised at the size of the house and sat in the car for a few more minutes before she got down.

"You're rich!" She blurted out loud without a thought as she went to help him get down her luggage from the trunk.

He looked at her weirdly for a moment but then just rolled his eyes. He had no one say that to him before. Obviously, he felt he wasn't rich. His parents were and he just happened to still stay with them even though he was a grown man with a paying job. He wanted to look after his parents and take care of his siblings.

Damien started to walk towards the entrance with Danny close behind him. He suddenly came to a halt which made Danny bump into his back.

"Oww!" She exclaimed as she rubbed her forehead.

What is his body made of?

Iron or steel maybe. She spoke to herself in the head.

He turned back to face her and rose an eyebrow, amused at her clumsiness.

"Okay listen," He said seriously, "I have a big family and they are going to pester you with a lot of questions. Let's just say they are very nosy but you don't have to answer anything. I'll tell them some story and you go with the flow. Understood?" He spoke like as if he was talking with a child.

Danny just nodded her head quietly and they resumed to walk again.

Damien felt odd in taking her home. He hadn't gotten a girl home since so long. He didn't have anyone to bring neither in school nor in college. Of course, his girlfriend had visited him a couple of times. But for some uncertain reason, his family chose to ignore her. They were polite but he knew they didn't have much of a liking towards her.

"You know you don't have to do this. I can just stay elsewhere." Danny mumbled as they walked together and fumbled with her luggage.

"No!" He replied rather quickly and he mentally facepalmed,
"I said it's fine. I'm just giving you a heads up."

I can't believe I'm doing this.

Once they reached inside, Danny stood shocked with wide eyes as she tried to take in the huge house.

It was beautiful but she couldn't just take it all in, in one glance.

It was colour coordinated modern house with see-through glasses all around. There was a big sitting space with comfortable couches rounded around the coffee table. The living room was accommodated with a massive television in front of the couches with a fireplace just beneath it.
