This will appear later on in the story but I would like to explain it here clearly.
Eve doesn't know how to use magic. Eve uses the abilities that he has as an esper soul. The difference between Eve's abilities and magic will also be named differently as a skill. Eg: Eve's ability to use fire is listed as Fire Element but the ability of an individual in Reinfer who can use fire will be listed as Fire Magic.
When Eve first arrived in Reinfer he was only able to forcefully use the earth element as the body Eve reincarnated into has a earth magic attribute which served as a weak link between his esper soul and the body.
Eve will not be able to use any other magic besides Dark Magic and Blank magic even after class change, this is because his body only has one magic attribute (dark magic). Eve can also use Blank Magic because anyone can use it but at the current point of the story he doesn't know how to use either of the two.
